  1. I was REALLY small then Russ, 74 to 79? I was 5,6,7,8,9 & 10
  2. Thanks for sharing that with us I know some of us feel helpless over here, and it's nice to know that we had a presence (a pretty gorgeous one by the sounds of it!!) in Bob's farewell. The Penguin in the pocket was a nice touch & made me smile. I'm sure he's now at peace Regards Alison
  3. I'll mention the Wilton but I never went to Wigan While I'm here, I might as well mention MY Wigan "Bradford Queens Hall" .... & now I'll butt out of this thread, as I can't talk about Wigan
  4. Wow!!! What an amazing amount in such a short space of time Lovely words Mike & great choice of flowers Philly - I'll buy you a drink at the weekend & we'll raise a glass to Boba xx
  5. Try clicking on the link again Rich, don't click on the Skokie link, just scroll down to the bottom, & there is a donate box in the bottom left hand corner, where you put an amount (no £ signs) & then it takes you to the next page Hope it works this time
  6. Panicked when it said Paypal, as I'm a thicky when it comes to that carry on, plus I can't remember my password, but managed to use a card, so money on the way Cheers Mike for sorting this out Lets hope we can bring a little comfort to his family & close friends.
  7. I have never sent flowers overseas but have used Interflora & can see they have a USA Interflora so I would guess they are your best bet. The time difference of, I think it's 5 hours behind us, will go in our favour as well. I'll PM you my monetary contribution Mike & if you let me know bank details (can't do Paypal) I'll transfer some money to the bank account today Hope this helps Edit: Chicago is 6 hours behind GMT during our Summer
  8. Omitted to say earlier ... but my heartfelt condolences go out to his sister, Jennifer, his parents Vasken & Frida, his grandfather Aron, & those the closest to him, your hearts must be broken. Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, Love leaves a memory that no one can steal Trying to send comfort to you all at this truly painful time Alison xxx
  9. Heartbreaking stuff, & hearing his voice when you click on the radio link knocks you for six. Jeez Bob, there would have been other ways out of the darkness!! Hope you're now at peace though Goodnight & godbless Alison xxx

  12. 10 miles from your house?!!! You fibber!!!! That IS your house looks like you've had a tidy up as well
  13. Ha ha she certainly will!! ...... & a photo for when she's not looking
  14. He certainly has!! Saw him at SPW50 on Saturday afternoon & he rocked the place (IMO miles better than Let Me Rock You Chaka Khan did) He's a sexy little man who's vocals were flawless, he was grooving non stop, a very energetic performance, & at one point he was gyrating on the floor, sounds awful I know, but it wasn't, & only he could get away with it with his cheeky little smile, his wonderful energy & super personality. He ended his performance with a touching speech about his many years in the industry & how when he's ready to hand it over, a certain lady will carry on his music, we were all expecting a lady to come on stage .... but were blown away when his 4 year old grand daughter came bounding on to the stage singing & grooving away with her grandad, & at times going solo, it was sooooo cute, & one of the best things I've ever witnessed. I have photo evidence of ALL of his performance so will post the grand-daughter pictures when I get chance, & will probably not post the gyrating on the floor ones (I hope to gosh his grand-daughter was busy with a teddy bears picnic at the time of her fun grandads exercise routine ) Regards Ali
  15. Take your ear plugs for Chaka as she will burst your ear drums Incognito were fine
  16. I've just got back from the "Southport Weekender" (that is held in Minehead ) & I didn't enjoy her performance at all (unlike when she supported Mary J Blige a few years back when she was fab) She was just too shrieky this time, & I left before the end of the performance. I can't see it working in a small venue when she wants to belt them out, but as I have friends who've paid the £175 I hope for their sakes that she is worth the ridiculous money they have forked out. I paid £220 for a whole weekend of great worldwide dj's (too many to mention them all - Tony Humphries, Kenny Dope, Kerri Chandler, Terry Hunter, The Basement Boys) with Chaka thrown in the package, along with the Brand New Heavies, Omar, Lisa Shaw, Faith Evans & Archie Bell & The Drells (who I WOULD have paid £175 to see! He was incredible!!!) Good luck to all Hoochie Coochiers, I truly hope your experience is better than mine Regards Ali Edit: perhaps I should add .. there were 100's who did seem to enjoy her performance, she just wasn't for me this time
  17. I always thought Mass Order had God in mind, but when you listen to DJ Spen put his own touch on it, it is quite apt for the House God Not sure if you've heard yet, but the Southport Weekenders are coming home (yipeee!!) in October (for a one off weekender), to the old Pontins site so get booked for that as soon as you can
  18. You jammy so & so!!!!! Great photo Mark Ali
