Im with you on Stormy Theresa !! Jesse Davis almost had me in tears when he sang it a Cleethorpes. Thanks Ken for posting the clip (sorry I still dont know how to multiquote!). Right Im gonna go listen to it again & cry some more xx

No need to apologise you daft un! I know what you mean about surnames tho. People dont know that Im Lady Hamilton (well the people who read this thread will do now ). I must admit I thought your surname was Franklin for years so we all suffer from the surname syndrome - actually at times I suffer from the first name syndrome also . Aaaw Steve's mum was a real part of that night & I bet she is still missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Im signing off now as Im completely shattered - all the brilliant sound clips, the memories & this banter about what we got up to 18 years ago is as if I've been doing it all over again ..... only now I cant take the pace . So nite nite to my fellow BQH's Im off for some Al xxx

Phil Johnny Kearsley is from Wigan married to the wonderful Sue (I cant remember Sue from Bradford but met her later at various soul nights/nighters). They still get out & about occasionally (last saw them in March at my birthday party ) but as they have become grandparents recently they are spending time at home with the family. You will definitely know him. He was as mad as you & .... still is Al x

Which brother ?? I knew Paul,Jeff & Barry (I hope I have got all their names right) & there's another brother I think but as I only met him once and I cant recall his name. Aint seen any of them for ages. They did a stint of running the modern room at Winsford which was brilliant. Nice set of lads & Paul's wife Julie was such a lovely lady (hope they are still together). If posstot (ha ha trust one of them to have a name like that!) wants to remain annonymous will you pm me which one it is & I'll say hello to him. But in the meantime I'll say helloooo ! to all of them on here ! Naked Music Rules !!! Al x

Aaw Richard ! Nice of you to join in this homage to Queens Hall. Crofty !! I would love to bump into him & his mum (I think she was called Betty) She was a real good sport staying up all night with us lot making sure we were all fed & watered. Aint seen him since Bradford closed which is a real shame. I did bump into his co-promoter Adrian (the quiet one with dark hair & glasses-he'll kill me for saying that) at Prestatyn a couple of years back and y'know somat the jammy bugger hasn't aged at all & is still a lovely guy. I think I chewed his ear off most of the night about how great BQH was & how we needed a re-union. Sadly I dont think the upstairs could facilitate a re-union as I believe there is a bar in the middle of the dancefloor (thinking about it that could be handy for some punters!). Im not sure what is going on downstairs (just like back then) so maybe there is a glimmer of hope if Crofty & Adrian ever read this read. I know people will think get over it & move on and believe me I have tried & altho I do have awesome nights at other places nothing quite does it for me like Bradford did. (I think I should change my name on here from Alison H to BQH Forever !!) It was good to see you again at Southport even if it was just as I was leaving ! Thats Southport for you ! Ann Nesby stole the show for me. Take care Richard & see you somewhere soon. Ali x (BQH Forever!!)

Pmsl Jill at YOUR post. Oh girl why did I go shopping today & get piss wet through when I could have been on here chatting & laughing away with you. You are so funny & I do remember them 3 great tunes from Bradford. All the best Ali x
-
Surely not ?? It must have gone on longer than that. Mind you if it was every two weeks at certain periods then I s'pose thats why it might have felt like it went on for years. Im with you on the best time I ever had and that does go for the whole of BQH - Upstairs & down. from 87 right through to 92 Nothing compares for me I'm afraid. Al x

Hey Nogger ! R u still supporting Scum ? Aint seen you for ages. Winsford I think was the last time but that was years ago when they had a modern room. Me & the 3 Teresa's used to have brilliant times there. No it cant have been that long ago since Ive seen you. Anyway where-ever it was Im sure it was fine .......... as long as you weren't wearing a scum shirt !! All the best Ali x

Aaw thats great to know he's ok Paul. He was a lovely fella & no doubt will still be a lovely fella. I've still got the tapes that he used to bang out at Bradford. Seasons of a Dove etc. When you next see him or speak to him will you tell him the young lass from Leeds (well I was in those days!) that came round to his flat in Manchester with Derek Pearson & a few others many moons ago says a big hello & sends him her best wishes. Cheers Paul Ali x

That is awesome to listen to as now that Ive found out how to turn my volume up on here (I havent had this laptop long!) its great hearing people chatter & swear (still shit hot!!) in the background & remembering the atmosphere of the place. What date in 91 did you record it ? Ive just checked one of my many diaries & this weekend in 91, 18/5 to be precise good old Queens Hall was on. I dont think I missed any so Its freaky to think that 18 years ago when I was dancing away without a care in the world I would be listening & feeling the atmosphere of the exact night all over again sadly from the comfort of my own home this time but its still good & bizarre as well. How nice is that Steve Mancha song. It makes me want to cry but I wont. I guess you didnt like Sandpipers cos you certainly cut that one short Right thats me done, off to bed now (huh wouldnt have been saying that 18 years ago tonight!) THANK YOU for your brilliant recording. Goodnite & godbless Ali xxx (a happy little soul)
-
Yeah ! Ive just hammered it too but I couldnt work out how to turn the volume up. Not the same when you have to shuv your ears right up to the computer - I would give owt to be getting ready now for our fortnightly fix of Bradford oops I mean Bratford. I loved both rooms equally. I know not many would flit between the two but I did & I feel (imo) I got the best of both worlds. Ali x

It is !! and aren't I doing well. I've just done my first ever quote reply (successfully I think?). Thank you for being my guinea pig Phil. All the best Ali xx

Thats ace Chalky ! A hoarder like me & probably like most folk on here I guess. I never went to the October ones - too cold (joke) but can see that I clearly missed out. If I had the technology (which I havent yet) I would upload my yellow programme from March 90 for you but seen as you are a fellow hoarder you've most likely got it anyway Cheers for the image Chalky All the best Ali x

Only 3 ?? Jill is right - there are far too many to name favourites & it does seem a tad unfair when they were all fantastic !! BUT I will do as Im told Reverse order Johnny Bristol - Come to me Tyrell Corporation - 6 O'clock Tammy Payne - Take me Now Ooh Ive changed mi mind Yo Yo Honey - Groove on Marva Hicks - Got you where I want Michael Tarone - I can tell Oh no !! Ive changed it again Incognito - Always there Joey Negro - Do what you feel Ce Ce Peniston - Finally I know !! I'm very naughty listing more than 3 but its a woman's perogative to change her mind .... or is it ? Barry & Dave did an amazing job & thanks must go to Steve Croft & Adrian for having the initiative to roll with it. Alex Badass,Pip (where is he these days?) & Chris Creane also helped make it the most special place in the whole wide world for me & my pals ! Big love Ali xxx

I agree !! They were fab weekenders at the Vauxhall. I was rooting through some papers the other night & came across the official programmes & my membership cards (yep Im a hoarder). Wow ! it took me back. The first programme from March 90 is bright yellow & a bit basic (which is understandable as it was the first weekender) The 2nd programme is of better quality & has stood the test of time. However I do cherish both programmes equally as both weekenders were fab & a real warm up for the wonderful weekenders that were to come at Beacholme in Cleethorpes ! Right back to the subject matter ..... I'm afraid I cant help you out with any C/U's whatsoever so its over & out from me (thank god you say). Cheers Jim for making me smile again about the TAC weekenders. Ali x

That is sooo cool Lorna. Thanks! I'll ask em who the Funk Soul Sister is when I visit the old studio in a few weeks time !! Ali xx
-
I agree that Soulie was & probably still is a fantastic dancer but the greatest dancer in the world (for me) was big Scotty from Stockport. I was sooo young & in awe of him & his great whistling when I used to see him out & about at Tony's Empress,Winsford,Droylesdon,Hyde & lots of other places in the early 90's. I didnt dare tell him then what a god I thought he was but when I bumped into him at Prestwich a few months ago after all these years I certainly told him (well Im older & braver now and life's too short). He was & still is my favourite dancer in the whole wide world & he would be really embarrassed to know I'm writing this about him but hey ho - you asked a question & I answered it. Ali x

Mandy & other Soul sourcers I will give you an apology in advance ! I loaded photos for the first time last night & u will be happy to know, after the trauma, it will be my very last time. They were all named & some had quirky comments ... when they were on my laptop that is! I didnt realise it wouldnt transfer the text (probably does if you do it right). Mandy Im sure you will know most of the people on the pics (as u do know the whole of the universe) so if for some bizzarre reason I ever get the urge to upload, bulkload, download (sounds like a stomach complaint) or watever else you have to do I will try harder next time. Right Im off to cause chaos at the Southport Weekender now ! Big love Lil Ali xx
