This is my first & final post on this question, as for years I have been either defending my Northern corner when some of my modern friends have been slating it or fighting my Modern one when my Northern friends have been doing the very same & to me it's tiresome as the majority of my friends now get along under the same roof, in different rooms and respect each others tastes.
For me, Modern & Northern have always gone hand in hand and a "JUST Modern" nighter would not work. The only "All Modern nighter" I can recall ever going to (since joining the nighter scene in 87) was Jollies in Stoke in 1999, and fantastic as it was, it didn't get the numbers as the majority of the "strictly" modern crowd do not want an all-nighter, other than at weekenders.
Back in the days of Winsford & Bradford Queens Hall the Modern Rooms did go on till 8am and you had to drag people out in the morning, but times have changed, numbers have dwindled and you'll never get those days back again so I say well done to Radcliffe for hitting the nail right on the head with their superb layout and time slots to suit absolutely everyone (& no doubt pxss someone off, )
We can all live (& dance) in peace & harmony x
