Now where did I put that ice!!
  5. Managed to watch two songs hid behind a cushion and why was he tapping his backside when singing? Always the same Z celebrities at every "A night with" event. plus he doesn't have a singing voice never mind a soulful one.
  6. Thanks for your time replying to the posts regarding this year's event. I do have my concerns regarding the dance floor in Redemption, however love the company, music genres in all the rooms- think we went in all of them last year and although I say never again each year(due to lack of sleep, liver fatigue!!) still keep coming back for more. Our group are not all into Northern so we divide our time equally so everyone has a good week end.
  7. Snake Davis and his band are fantastic. Saw them at King Georges Hall Blackburn but still couldn't bring myself to dance. Have just been used to watching bands and to be honest; deep down would feel awkward getting up.
  8. My most favourite DJ at Wigan and always look forward to his spot at Prestatyn each year. The floor is always rammed. That says to me how much people appreciate him.
  9. Totally agree!!
  10. Was at the far end of the tent left of the decks. Only was a little kiosk
  11. Some good valid points brought up here and like you say the week end isn't cheap. Although personally I love the Redemption room, but the dance floor isn't ideal; with the jointed sections.Last year although it is always dark in there it seemed more so with the bottle bar not being open.Felt like blind Pugh on the dance floor but do feel it may lose its atmosphere if it were to change to the Modern Room

Sorry Ste wasn't tall enough for this one!! Sandra X
  16. It's open for a different kind of scene on most occasions.
  17. I confess!! I go to the wheel for the Sunday sessions and do enjoy them, however do think they're over too soon (3-8,) although doesn't stop me staying out enjoying the company of other soulies in the pub next door afterwards. During the late 70's did Wigan then straight onto an all dayer many times and looked like death warmed up!!
  18. Good for you. I've always clapped after a favourite record to show my appreciation and haven't actually seen the rule book on the do's and don'ts of the etiquette of clapping. Is it new? frankly I don't give a clap!!!
  19. Personally have always preferred the oldies and love the Redemption room at Prestatyn as did Mr M's in the late 70's, Do not attend nighters due to having my kids later in life; Does this make me a bad person if I can only get out to a venue on average once a month and then savour every moment on the dance floor? would rather see people having a good time than an empty dance floor. Life's too short enjoy it while you can!
  20. Remember travelling up to an all nighter in Carisle 1980? on a coach with my mate Julie from Halifax in a blizzard.Didn't get there till 5.00am and managed to sneak in through a fire exit.Blagged a lift in a minibus back to Rochdale but driver had a cob on and kicked us all out at the services.Happy days!!!
  21. It's sad that things can't be left without the risk of theft. Hope that the people who took this will have their consciences pricked although no decent soulie would have even thought of removing the banner.Hope it won't put others off displaying theirs and that it is returned to the rightful owners somehow.
  22. Who doing the set now Lloyd has left with his records??Although some cheesy tunes played was still good to hear them and annoy my hubby with my sing a long session lol
  23. Would normally choose Levi Stubbs evey time but David Ruffin singing "Walk away from Love " is awesome
  24. Not sure, but the girl looks like Julie from Halifax?
