Worst Experience ever visiting an All Nighter,
Wayoutgirl replied to Hooker1951's topic in All About the SOUL
Travelled up to Carlisle for a nighter on a Friday with Julie from Halifax on a coach against the advice of my mum as it was snowing. Duly got to blizzard standards as we headed further North. Finally arrived at the venue at 5am but managed to get in via a knock on a fire door. Managed to cadge a lift back to Manchester in a mini bus off some friends but after a short stop at the services the driver accused me of ripping the seat in front of me and kicked us all off. The tear which I hadn't noticed until he pointed it out was old and frayed but his excuse to ditch us. Ended up borrowing money off the gang till Wigan the night after and finally got the train back. -

Thank you for all the lovely birthday messages and sound clip of the tune from Ken that sent everyone mad a few months back. Tried to say thank you Lorraine but wouldn't let me change it today but much appreciated xx Lots of love Sandra xx

Have a great night. The footy on the day and my son home from the U.S early hours of Sunday (Mum's Taxi service) getting in the way this month.

Whilst down in Deal for a long weekend; I rummaged through the 45's in the local Dog's Trust charity shop. To my surprise came across a brown cardboard sleeve stating Jesse James for the ultimate bargain of £1. Giddy as a kipper I skipped towards the till with a smug feeling and whilst waiting in the queue decided to look at the condition. Wow it looked mint but put my glasses on for a closer look. I eagerly glanced at the title and to my dismay the words jumped right out Bloody E.L.O Sweet Talkin woman I swiftly returned the sleeve and contents and made a hasty retreat up the high street

Bridlington Northern & Modern Soul Weekender 15
Wayoutgirl reviewed Rob Wigley's event in Weekenders

Attended another brilliant weekender at the Spa. Early finishing times from previous years but fully understandable. Just didn't want the nights to end which proves how good the music and atmosphere was. Unfortunately had to leave Sunday due to work commitments but can imagine what a great Sunday was had by all lucky enough to stay. A big thanks to all the organisers, Dj's, Spa staff and the fabulous company and like minded folk who attended. See you next year Sandra x -
Darby & Joan Ride Again Wednesday Afternoons ?
Wayoutgirl replied to Citizen P's topic in All About the SOUL
Yep Wednesday afternoons in Rochdale and apparently a busy event. I would have a nosey if not working to be honest. Not much difference to attending events on a Sunday afternoon in bars or pubs. Live and let live I say and let others enjoy what they are doing Tony -
Another hot night in so many ways at the Ukrainian Club and with a few regulars missing. Was a slow burner at first however by 8.15 all the seats downstairs were claimed .Great sets by all especially Tony Mac. Was also good to see Chris on a bit earlier too. Once again a big thank you to all involved Sandra x

Cannot wait to be back at the Spa. Looking forward to another weekender of great sets, fabulous venue and the lovely people that make this such a brilliant event. Sandra x -
One that stuck in my mind at the annual Easter fair on the waltzers at Hollingworth Lake, Littleborough,Rochdale was Cher's Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves.

Sad news to hear of her passing. A great performer and moved with the times with her relevant releases throughout the decades.

Having missed the last two events, it was great to be back with like minded folk ,enjoying what is delivered each month by those spinning their brilliant sets. Last night went so quickly which is testimony to what a varied range was played and enjoyed by the dancers and those partial to sitting and listening to what was being delivered. A big thank you once again to the promoters, Djs and of course the bar staff who keep everyone quenched and happy.

Yep same here but was delivered today. The communication was spot on from Tesla Groove keeping us updated. Worth the wait Sandra x
