  1. Another sad day for soul and jazz funk. One of the best. Sandra
  2. Sad news indeed and another great artist gone too soon. Sandra
  3. Sad news indeed. Fond memories of The Jam and their influence on the revival of the mod scene in the late 70's/80's.
  4. Happy Birthday Ste Wishing you a fabulous day xx Lots of love Sandra & Joyann xx
  5. A few years ago a newly qualified teacher in year 5 used to play out northern during the class morning work. His parents influenced his liking for it and I loved being his teaching assistant as a great start to the day.
Great night at 45 Rev A good crowd in who appreciated what was being played and hats off to Tony for continuing to pull in the D.J's who always deliver with their magic boxes of quality records. Was lovely catching up with so many like minded people. Well done to Tony, Alan and Michelle x
Another great night at Ashton. Arrived early as usual to get a table. Was quiet till around 8.10 then boom back to business. Loved every set as such a varied mix of tunes. Carl came up with the goods on his debut and Chalky delivered as always. Hats off to all the D.J's for providing such a varied variety of tunes. Keep on keeping on Sandra xx
  6. Just been flicking through the channels tonight and came across STAX Soulsville now showing on Sky Arts. On till 12. Missed the first 45 mins.

  9. Happy New Year Kathryn We escaped in our motorhome to stay above Scamenden Dam to try and avoid the fireworks. Had a flurry of dull bangs in the distance but nothing like we would have faced staying home. Watched Jools Holland and a few sherbets. Hats off though to those who braved the weather to see the New Year arrive in Manchester; hard as nails in that torrential rain and winds. Wishing everyone a peaceful and soulful 2025 Sandra x
  10. Happy Birthday Joan Hope you're having a fabulous day. Lots of love Sandra & Joyann xx
  11. My thoughts and condolences are with Phil's family and friends at this sad time. Sandra
  12. I agree as all the other vinyl he's selling at the moment are reasonable prices.
  13. Thanks for the heads up on this. Been gifted two big boxes of 12" and 7" vinyl. Not many delights there however found a few gems such as the OJays Hold on but sound rather stratchy, even though no huge visible scratches on the vinyl, when played on my new turntable. Worth something a tenner to give it a go. Think the owner basically stacked the 45's high on her record player and never used a sleeve.
  14. Thank you x
  15. Over in the states at the moment and the sad news came through this morning of the passing of the great record producer.
  16. Back in the room for this night. No football or motor home trips planned. Sandra x
First time back at 45 Rev due to other commitments however won't be the last. Great sets throughout the night, lovely people in attendance and only £3 on the door. What more could you ask for. Sandra x
  17. Thank you everyone for the lovely birthday wishes xx Lots of love Sandra xx
  18. Well I know I'd come across biased with this venue being in my hometown and run by my Wigan pals however last night was another fabulous turnout. Straight from the off at 7.30 most of the seats were filled and also the dance floor was packed right through the night. Resident DJ's Ste and Mark started and ended the night brilliantly before the maestro John Parker gave us all another peek of his vast collection of sublime records.
  19. My faux pas whilst dancing at Wigan was me belting out "Just like a rabbit" to Just like the weather Still get the giggles when the record is played out. Sandra
  20. Been in the motorhome since Friday lunchtime. Been to the Old Stone Trough in Kellbrook for 2 nights and frequented a few pubs in Skipton including watching the match Saturday lunchtime. Sunday stayed in Settle and today landed in Ingleton. Been on the Ingelton Waterfall trail. Just under 5 miles of steep climbs but well worth the effort.
  21. We are currently at the trough this weekend in our motorhome. Great venue and plenty of parking. Just a heads up for any motorhomers. £15 a night which includes full breakfast up to a maximum of 2. Have a great night
  22. Remember the days of travelling in the car heading for a summer destination and by the end of the journey; the windscreen was covered in orange splats off the unfortunate insects hitting it. No longer see anything like that these days. My family go mad when I let flies and wasps out of the house but trying to do my little bit. Have lots of caterpillars on my roses though.
