Austine Twins - My Place Mongo Santamaria - We Got Latin Soul Tony washington - Someone Always Cryin / He Will Break Your Heart JJ Barnes - Say It Peggy Gaines - Sweet Way of Living Kaleidoscope - We're Not Getting Any Younger, or how about I'm A Changed Person Four Tees - One More Chance Big Ella - It Takes A Lot Of Loving Betty Everett - Unlucky Girl Rose Hargrove - Knocked Down Kicked Around Sunny and the Sunliners - I'm No Stranger Roy Smith - I Can Remember Cortez Greer - Very Strong On You Ultra High Frequency - We're On The Right Track Bobby Freeman - Lies Edit: typo

I saw this playlist the other day and in amongst the bigger ticket items were some more freely available 45's. Worth checking out as one example of just how "cheap" one can go without causing a walkout -

Purely coincidentally I've just found this link - https://www.genesis950.com/page/how%20to%20clean%20vinyl%20record%20labels No idea if the product is any good but the method illustrated is applicable when using some of the other liquids/solvents mentioned in this thread to remove stickers.

There have been 4 land this morning - Ronnie Angel - For Love, Jack Harden & the Silhouettes - She'll be back, Tony Washington- Someone's Always Crying/ He Will Break Your Heart, so I have spare copies of these 3 now. The 4th is Cilka and the Second Coming - He Left Me Behind which I'd put off buying several times as being "oddball" over the years but finally relented.
-
When it arrives, if the condition is OK, I'll post it on my youtube channel and then add the video to the thread on here.

Just bought a copy of Newsound - Bet You Never Thought About It
-
Just got a box down to play through and the first half dozen or so are these - Betty Brooks - There Must Be A Love Somewhere Ed McCoy - We Can Love One Another The Elusions - I'd Like To Say I Love You Shep Grant - You'll Cry Tomorrow Bobby Hutton - You're My Whole Reason and currently on the deck is Burny Reynolds - Try Me. I think a lot of the copies of this are pressed off centre & it sounds like the one in the vid below is suffering this problem.

It was a big Stafford spin. Guy Hennigan??? Someone will know. I bought a copy at the time from Tim Ashibende. It was a hard to find 45 and I paid perhaps £70 which was a fair whack back then considering my weekly earnings and the fact that a lot of great, nowadays expensive, records were under a tenner. I like the flip side too.

Plenty through ebay. Here are just the ones listed on popsike - https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?pagenum=1&searchtext=shaddows&incldescr=&sortord=ddate&thumbs=&currsel= If you sort them by date you'll notice a trend with the price........appears to have peaked around 2008.

It was listed at £500 in price guide 5, I don't have the latest guide so can't comment, having said that I do know that this one goes through ebay.com for around £100 in reasonable condition so you could drop on a decent copy for a lot less than book price.

The one's around my turntable tonight are - The New York Rock Exchange - "Hey Baby", Silent Majority - Colors Of My Love / Frightened Girl, Jimmy Elledge - Sad Town, Dennis Ballew & the Plain Truth - You Could Be Falling In Love, Bobby Boyd & The Playboys - You Don't Have To Be Crazy, In-Men Ltd - Little Girl, Roy Smith - I Can Remember and finally Richie Havens - I've Gotta Go (which I've been hammering this week).
-
My own fave on the label is Bobby Freeman - Lies & coincidentally I picked a copy up for a tenner the other day. Edit -

Anyone storing any of their records in old Tanner 'N' Texas sleeves................ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-TNT-Records-Company-Sleeve-TNT-Records-San-Antonio-Texas-Sleeve-Only-/360972876450?nma=true&si=Z0BCYAPE4wtCjiuWRPsznRn4bqE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

You could get a good 2nd hand deck, such as a Rega, along with a dac and use the Aux input on the Bose. This wouldn't cost a lot and should sound quite nice, although I have a Bose SoundDock and don't really like it much myself. Another way would be a turntable along with small a headphone amp, if you don't mind listening through headphones all the time.

Burned down.

With regards to point number 1 I think the closest way to do this would be in the "Advanced Search" settings. Type in whatever your "keyword" and "category" are, eg. keyword could be "60's "and category "music", then scroll down the page to the "Show results" field and fill in the fields for "Number of bids from ___ to ___" with suitable figures (some experimentation may be required here, perhaps start at 10 and work up). Not exactly the answer but I can't see another way.

I think Ian's right with his peaks and troughs theory so I guess the next month whilst the World Cup is on will be bad for UK sellers. From a more global perspective I also believe that eBay, in their quest to bleed the last penny out of everyone, have made so many changes in the last 12 - 18 months that have turned out to be negative that they have succeded in messing up what was a simple and fairly well balanced system thereby putting many folks off. For example I still buy quite a lot of records from the .com site but now that the Global Shipping Program has become more commonplace a lot of these listings are now overpriced as a record that should cost around $13 to ship is now often >$17 + import fees.

Your link is to the site recommended grading system which is not the same as Goldmines, which as I remember doesn't recognise the VG++ grade. This serves to illustrate my point in so far as that because there's no "standard" system of grading people tend to use their own spin on what they deem to be the norm eg. Goldmine, Osborne etc. This is not a new problem and not confined just to US ebay sellers. I've had enough problems over the years with records graded M- and this only gets worse and multiplies as you go down the grades in my opinion. the old adage "let the buyer beware" is more applicable the lower you go......unless you really aren't fussed. Mine was just a general comment and clearly in your example a record that has not been stored in the sleeve will invariably be less than VG+ whichever grading system is used and you should get a refund. I wish you better luck in future, whichever grade you opt to purchase, but for my own peace of mind I'll continue to leave much of the VG+ stuff alone. https://recordcollectornews.com/2013/08/record-grading-gets-an-f/

Hopefully "Mr Angry" is a little calmer today and perhaps I can throw in my tupenneth without feeding the flames. Anyhow, I don't think this is a new problem, the VG+ and to a lesser extent VG++ grades are the most wide open to (mis)interpretation in my experience. Many sellers in the US don't use VG++ so the gap between EX down to VG or whatever is quite wide. At the lower end many boderline VG records get edged into VG+. So you can be lucky and get a nice condition disc or one that's not so good. I bought 12 records from a seller some time ago that were pretty much all listed VG+ and when they arrived these ranged visually from M- down to VG to one which was cracked. After experiencing the highs and lows of purchasing records graded VG+ I rarely buy much on ebay below EX con nowadays unless I'm pretty confident in the seller or there's a sample of the audio. Even seemingly good photos don't tell the wholle story. In your case, as you intend to sell these records on, I would do likewise and be fussy when buying VG+. The records are still out there, another copy willl eventually show up, but you may have to wait a little bit longer until the one in great shape pops up for sale.

Not sure if this link will work, you may have to copy/paste it into your browser - https://vimeo.com/93027465

A couple of my own favs would have to be Jackie Wilson - The Who Who Song / Since You Showed Me How To Be Happy and The Oracles - I Ain't Got Time / Love In My Heart

I'll leave that for you to decide....they must be at least as rare as the picture sleeve. Back on track, there's a couple of copies of this 45 on ebay if anyone's interested. https://www.ebay.com/itm/OLDE-ENGLISH-800-It-Is-The-Power-b-w-It-Is-The-Power-Power-Break-/301138155885?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item461d3b996d https://www.ebay.com/itm/281342314080?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
