  1. Sorry for passing on duff info. Bob did have quantities of all the titles. I think he probably got them direct from Bolo records themselves. They were knocking them out for a few $$ a time a few years back but they don't have many titles left now. I've bought copies from both Bolo & Bob Pegg in the past. I thought I had spare copies of some of the Jimmy Hanna 45's but have just checked and unfortunately can't find any. Don't think it to be particularly scarce and have seen it go through ebay auctions without a bid in the fairly recent past.
  2. Bob Pegg at peggrecords.com has it $15 new old store stock.
  3. I don't think you're far out with your valuation as the issue often sells £30+ on ebay. Also not forgetting the record is a double header.
  4. Don Crawford had a C&W single on Loma. Then of course there's the Redd Foxx 7" EP which you could safely call an oddity.
  5. It is. Shame the demo is a plain non descript label compared to the Mod issue, which I always liked the look of.
  6. Royal Jesters - I've Got Soul / My Kind Of Woman Can't find a clip for I've Got Soul but here's one for My Kind Of Woman Edit - subsequently found a clip for I've Got Soul
  7. Had several recently but these few were close enough at hand to quickly photo. The New Breed 45 always appears to have the little ink stamp on the label. I have another copy and that's the same. It is a garage/blue eyed thing that I've seen on a compilation somewhere.
  8. I It did indeed get released as a 45. https://www.45cat.com/record/w509us
  9. A bit of Tom Moulton never goes amiss so TJM - Small Circle Of Friends would be my suggestion. Am I Dreaming off the same LP isn't bad either.
  10. You can ask but there's no guarantee the seller will agree. I've just got one from a seller who didn't want to oblige, £7 odd vat + the usual £8 "handling". To be fair in this case I was still OK with the total price even though the handling charge still makes my blood boil every time.
  11. I've seen Behold a few times on ebay.com around the £40 for Ex/M- mark I think.
  12. It certainly does exist. https://www.popsike.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-RARE-MODERN-CROSSOVER-SWEET-EXQUISITES/300583650727.html
  13. A very useful link. Sadly it'll never take away the shock of the additional £8 handling charge from Royal Mail, especially on the occasions when I'm incurring less than a quids worth of import vat on an item.
  14. Rick Thompson - We All Make Mistakes Sometimes / What Do I Have To Do Both sides will invariably be on youtube.
  15. Indeed. In fact I often mistake the café culture of Nantwich Road for that of Alderley Edge.
  16. There could be at least 2 more releases on Groovey Disc. The Fuzz is GD-001 whilst Sunny and the Sunliners is GD-004. I have no idea what these others could be as I've never looked into it. The fact that I've seen other copies of Sharing You for sale should not imply that this 45 is particularly common as I'm sure you're aware, but if I do happen to spot another copy I will get in touch. Hopefully someone will have a copy for sale in the near future.
  17. It could be worse, we could have "chin strokers" who dress as "clowns"..........
  18. With a little patience you should be able to find both records on ebay cheaply enough, although to be fair the Groovey Disc 45 has usually been in rough shape the odd times I've seen it. I have a copy of this boot (not for sale) and never considered it was the only way to get Sharing You on a 45 but on reflection I think you may well be correct that it wasn't released on a local label as a 7". Not sure what source they used to boot it from but seem to recall sound quality is good on this one, although I would have to go and play it to confirm.
  19. Go onto youtube type in Roy Smith and probably the 1st thing that will come up will be Don't Go Away, which had 3 outings on the Chantain, Ascot and then Cutlass labels. Probably all of these are on youtube for starters along with lots of other stuff Also there's the Georgia Prophets material. Roy was a prolific songwriter and so there are other artists recording his songs, including many of the bands on the Delphi label which Roy was behind in some way. Here's a later song of Roy's which I've posted before and although not broadly sitting in the "soul" genre is really nice, and very poignant.
  20. Ah yes, nostalgia, it's still nice to be a part of an underground cult.........
  21. I've had numerous arrive requiring a signature having been sent Del Con in the last 4 - 6 weeks and every item sent this way I've had to sign for upon delivery/collection. Initially, when arriving home to find the usual card on the mat, I thought I was going to get rushed for import duty + R.M. handing fee when I collected the record from the local sorting office. I was delighted when I collected the first 45 and just had to sign for it. Someone had stuck a post it note with hand written "SPECIAL" on the mailer to differentiate the package. Subsequently this situation repeated itself to the point where it's a bit of a nuisance having to keep going to the sorting office to collect mail. I asked the guy at the sorting office why can't they just post it through the letter box as normal and he told me that they, Royal Mail, have to account for items sent via this service as it earns them more revenue than regular international mail. In summary anything being delivered in my locality which has been sent Del Con is likely to have delivery confirmation in the form of a signature. Whether this is the norm across the UK I have no idea.
  22. I would add that Roy Smith - Very Strong On You was picked up by Liberty Records from the local Augusta based Delphi label.
  23. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be definitive biography/discography for Roy Smith although there is a fair bit of information about Roy scattered over the web. Here's some very rare, but unfortunately low fi, footage of Roy performing live - The fellow who posted it on youtube, Richard Hooper, played drums with Roy for a period, in the late 70's I believe. I had some contact with Richard and I'm sure he would be happy to talk about his experience of working with Roy to anyone who is interested.. I was also contacted by his daughter, Sabrina Jeffs, via youtube and here too I'm sure she wouldn't mind anyone getting in touch regarding her late father. She mentioned she was going to post some of Roy's music but hasn't as of yet. I'm guessing there's a lot of unreleased material somewhere, either rough demo tapes or whatever, as Roy apparently re-recorded his songs several times and Richard was telling me he'd play stuff on tape in his car. Roy was undoubtedly a great talent, both as an artist in his own right and also as a songwriter and producer. Yet another who's flame burnt bright for a while before his untimely demise.
  24. You need to edit this post as you missed the decimal point from between the 5 and the 0.
  25. If this is the case why not just stay in & use the time to go online & discover a load of "fresh" tunes you will never hear played out at the average event. With the money you've saved on admission fees, drinks etc you can then buy some of these "new" tunes that you've discovered. The break from attending events may well relight your fire but the worst case scenario at least you'll have added to your record collection.
