  12. Sorry I missed this. Was looking forward to this all day then had a major crisis at work and didn't leave the office until 11.30pm. On the subject of the 'London crisis'. One night with numbers down doesn't mean the whole scene is dying. I bet next month's attendance is a record and we'll all be saying how healthy the scene is looking again. I will definitely, definitely be at the next one as its a great night and the venue is absolutely leeervly.
  13. Lets just say it was more than in Manship's 2nd price guide and much less than in the current one. On the subject of his latest guide I saw a copy in a record dealers in London and thought to myself after reading some/most of the 'new' prices that it would be worth selling a couple of records from my collection and buying a house in the South of France. Blimey I knew these things are pricey but ridiculous now seems to be the most appropriate word
  14. Margie Joseph - One more chance - Volt Hi Heard this played out last night at Monumental Soul (great night, by the way). It immediately crept into my wants list as a must have. ta Warren

  18. Fantastic night at BoogalooSoul's monthly Motown bash last night. Thanks to all that made it a really special night in our new venue. Anyway, I was talking to one of the other dj's Chris Lane who used to do a column for Blues and Soul in the 80's and reminded me that in the 70's and 80's both Blues and Soul and Black Echoes used to publish dj's and club's top 10 playlists. So here's ours for our Motown night. No real order, just tunes that are very popular and one's that we are trying to break onto an unsuspecting crowd. Labels are UK issues if not indicated Valerie Simpson - Sinner Man - Tamla LP Bobby Taylor - I've been blessed - Soul Vows - Tell me - VIP Isley Brothers - Behind a painted smile Spinners - It's a shame Edwin Starr - Time Edwin Starr - My kind of woman - Ric Tic Supreme's - Love is like an itching in my heart Supreme's - Going down for the third time Jnr Walker - Last call - French Tamla Four tops - Something about you Marvin Gaye - Love starved heart - Tamla Marvin and Tammi - Ain't no mountain high enough - Tamla Kim Weston - Thrill a moment - Gordy Barbara McNair - Forget you ever met me baby - Motown LP Stevie Wonder - Angel Baby - Tamla LP Yes, I know there's more than 10, but when you start.............. By the way our 3rd anniversary and Christmas party is on the 11th December. We've got a free Boogaloo anniversary patch, CD giveaways plus the usual record raffle. It's always a sell out, so if you want tickets call me on 07838 181 375 Regards Warren
