  1. An interesting topic and all the more relevant as I ran "Cheap as Chips" last year at Boogaloosoul. Tunes for £50 or less. Great music from all djs and I managed to get loads of records from the playlist of the other djs. Everyone who turned up said it was a great night and refreshing to hear newer, cheaper sounds and I really enjoyed it. Even heard it got it's own thread going on an Italian northern soul forum debating the value of cheaper quality sounds....... ........HOWEVER....... it was one of the lowest attendances we had all year. Just enough to keep it busy. So perhaps it's just a good idea for a topic and not one that really gets people moving onto the dancefloor. Not all doom and gloom tho' as I'm doing another one later on in the year (probably August/Sept) and am looking for volunteers. Warren Boogaloo
  2. Hiya Mik No sound files attached. Warren
  3. Thanks Pete Got to add my own words of congrats for this. Was up till 3am last night listening to this. Had a very similar tape myself for years before it got lost. Spent many a happy hour hanging over the Casino balcony with a tape recorder in my hands. Wonderful years and just brought back how influential Richard Searling was on the scene in those days. For me he was Wigan Casino and worth travelling 200 miles every two weeks to go to Wigan. All newies at the time but would kill to own most of those same tunes today. Got any more? Warren
  4. Nick and Dawn, I am totally shocked and dismayed that this sort of thing occurs to people like yourselves. And to involve your family is disgusting. Whoever the individual is who is doing this should be locked away for a long time. You are two of the NICEST AND MOST HONORABLE on the Northern soul scene and you will always have the trust and respect of both Karen and myself. Hope you get this sorted soon and you were right to inform the rest of us about this type of behaviour. Warren
