  1. Anyone got a copy of the Revels 'I need a true love' on Trent Town for sale. If so pm me.
  2. Gloom and doom? The way I look at it, it's all about choices - you choose to be miserable - you choose to be happy. Not difficult, is it? Anyway's. I've just won 8 rare boogaloo singles on ebay and I'm estatic. More than enough to spoil anyone's night out.
  3. These Old Shoes was 'special' - our night for London soul and kicked off lots of other soul nights including Boogaloosoul, Soul in the City etc. What makes a night special is the punters make it their night of the month that they can get excited about going to - you both pulled that off in spades. Why do I run Boogaloosoul - simple - coz I BLOODY LOVE IT. It's my hobby and passion and worth the stress. I love seeing the faces of people dancing, chatting, getting together (sometimes the only time you see each other), hearing new tunes, hearing old crusty ones, laughing, clapping and even sometimes the moans about my latin tunes. When I stop loving it I'll pack it in but for now it's one of the highlights of my month and I can't see the day when it won't be. Cheers from a VERY VERY happy soulie.
  4. Well, looks like one of the Chiefs have gone but still plenty of Indians around. As a promoter I know that once the fun and passion have gone its bloody hard to keep going. Shame it had to be someone with big ideas, the balls to put on 'the impossible' and vision. Unfortunately the Northern scene is very unforgiving - once you're gone, you're gone but let's hope you're back soon Chris. Remember, you're a long time retired so don't be away too long. Best wishes for the future and I'm sure you'll be successful no matter what you turn your hand to. Warren
  5. Haven't read the whole thread but I assume your referring to the 'Cheap as Chips' night we ran (did two actually). Fantastic night musically, but way down on our usual numbers for both nights so haven't done one since. It is slightly ironic that 9/10 of the people posting on this thread are djs - surely it's the punters that should be posting their thoughts. Anyway I'm glad we don't have the venue pressure in London that other parts of the country seem to have and I think the scene's very healthy at the moment (but I'm always the optimist). Personally I don't have a problem with people putting on nights - if you're willing to put your money where your mouth is - good on ya.
