  1. Top two bids went for over $10,000 and the third bid for only $6500. So the 2nd bidder cost the winner $3500. Now that I'd be really p****d off about .
  2. Well if Rob don't get it. I'll take it off your hands.
  3. Have to agree about the promotion - very, very poor for the Gladys Knight and this was to be her farewell concert. Wembley Arena was half empty but that didn't matter once she got on stage. Brilliant voice and great entertainer too. Fabulous.
  4. Hiya Everyone I'm baaaaack Funding another want so have relisted the old list I had up recently with set sales and offers. Same rules as before - I'll take sales and offers up to the point that I've got the dosh then it's bye bye time - so get in quick. I don't list any for hold as I don't hold anything. If you want it - pay for it. Might offer others from the collection over the next few days but if anyone wants something from the playbox, pm me and give me an offer (of reasonable proportions) and I'll consider it. Everythings negotiable. Cheers M'dears
  5. Lots of the better music shops will allow you to rent a sax and take the cost off that if you decide to buy it later. Personally, I'd advise you go for an Alto as it's quieter than a Tenor and will disturb the neighbours less. I wouldn't go for an expensive one first as you need to know if you'll stick with it. See if there are any music workshops in your area and go to them as well as lessons (which you shouldn't skimp on) as you'll meet other saxo's and it's good for bonding. The only thing that's going to get you to Jnr Walker standard is talent and practice - so if you're not prepared to spend half an hour a day honing your skill levels I'd advise you to get a Nintendo Wii instead. Cheers Warren
  6. Hip City Records is Rob Messer's record sales site. He's always got tunes for sale and been selling for years- you need to get out more. Must admit tho, there are lots of really good tunes coming up at the mo. Aaaaah, so much choice, so little money.
  7. Saw Brenda at the Jazz Cafe last night. She shared the bill with Chris Clarke (who was surprisingly good), Jack Ashford's funk brothers and Mable John. Only sang four songs and would have loved to have seen a whole evening of her stuff. Superb evening from my favourite female Motown artiste. Bumped into quite a few soulies last night and it was packed but surprised not to see more.
  8. Sorry, what I meant to say was it'll be big in my living room
  9. I predict big things for this tune. You heard it here first.
  10. As you well know Linda, the hunt is one of the best bits.

Just in case anyone has one at a reasonable price and in excellent condition I'll reply quickly. The money's burning a hole in my pocket. 16. When you've bought the same record three times. Now that's when you've got a problem.
  17. Thought this was rare but there's been 5 copies on ebay in the last couple of months and all from different sellers. Coincidence or is this just a £50er going for big money?
  18. No, I'm eccentric. Brilliant innit. And it's a rare red issue, a bargain.
  19. Hi Folks Looks like I'll be closing the sale earlier than I thought as I'm getting some very nice snifters and offers. I wouldn't delay if I were you. Cheers Warren
  20. Hiya y'all. I'm back and offering up some real juicy tunes for sale and offers. Did this a couple of months ago and I'm sure you'll agree the prices are reasonale. I'm doing this to finance a recent purchase so as soon as I've got my dosh I'll close the sale. The way it works is that I'll only list tunes that have sold when I've received the money. I'LL NOT BE HOLDING ANY TUNES so if you email and say you want it I'll let you know if anyone else has offered and then the first to get payment to me gets the record. I'll try to get back to people as quickly as I can but I've got a really busy week coming up so might be a bit delayed in replying. Any comments on the sales conditions, record gradings etc are not only welcome they're actively encouraged. All records are EX+ unless stated New tunes listed below As promised new list of tunes all for offer. First come first served. Not holding anything. 23. A sad loss indeed. Not just her Northern tunes but left behind a wealth of gospel tunes. A truely iconic figure on the soul scene. RIP Marie
  24. Hiya I'm closing the offers at 6pm tonight so if anyone else fancies an offer, be my guest. Cheers Warren
