Some Djs Are Full Of It !
Posted by shute, 16 December 2007 ·
Well just got back from Keele niter, not as buzy as last time I went, but hey ! its that time of the year...
Been getting a few numbers etc for djs to do spots at soul night.... one dj, who shall not be named and known for along time doesnt do soul nights as they are crap and said where do you go ! even though we travel in different circles different venues and rarely at the same venue (niter wise) ... so was the reply '' your not on the scene then'' ????????? so does that mean you have to do niters only to be on the soul scene ??? - news to me
the dj in question, as I know does weekenders, nighters and international spots.... but hey wahat do I know only been into this scene since 1973, through the Wigan, Stafford etc eras... felt a bit offended at this, but everyone to their own and if you dont ask you dont get.
Now to me, are some of these top djs so far up their own arse or am I missing something ??????
is the chip on the shoulder as large as a train sleeper or I just may have taken things the wrong way.
Has anyone else ever come across this ?

3Bs Soul Club @ Stafford Rangers FC
Situated just to the north of Stafford town centre within 5mins of Junction14 off the M6, the Rangers is a well appointed single storey building contaning 2 function rooms and has a large car park. Usually on the first Saturday of every month the largest of the two rooms is hosted to the 3Bs Soul Club.
Promoted by Kev (Shute) Johns and John Fisher, the event which was started in August 2004 has now become an integral part of the Staffs/West Midlands soul calander. The room has a wall to wall wooden dance floor with a bar at one end and a raised stage at the other.
Although it has never been a lock out (capacity of around 300) you are advised to be early as the night does get very busy. The 3Bs Soul Club is even right across the board with the emphisis on quality.
Guest DJ's that have appeared to date include :- Soul Sam, Ginger Taylor, Sean Chapman, Rob Kay, Ted Massey, Nige Brown, Dave Thorly, Carl & Maria Willington, who are regular and welcomed visitors to the club.
Dont forget that we run on the 1st Saturday of every month at STAFFORD RANGERS FC

What I've Done Over The Past 2 Weeks

Oh well, thought I'd better start my blog off......
OK !, Lets start off with last weekend Friday 1/4/05..... as most people know that I run a soul night in Stafford every 1st Friday of the month, this use to be every 2nd Friday of the month until this year when it had to be changed due to other comittments by the venue owners.
Anyway, last Friday I was booked to do the Big Lock in Middlewich, a booking I took last year prior to my date changes, and let me just say ''what a great little venue this is'', you can play sounds that you have never played out before and the crowd there will listen and even dance & the best thing, you do get comendated on the stuff you play, all good, keep up the great work Ste & Ann.
Right after doing my spot and slaying around for about half hr, I was back on the motorway heading towards Stafford to the Rangers Club and just arrived back and Mr Rimmer had about 15mins left on his spot, and what I heard and the feedback recieved, I can only praise Dave and say thank you.
What can I say about Stafford Rangers Soul Night, without being bias, always a good night, sounds, atmospher, function room, just brilliant, you should get yourself down here and see for yourself......
This weekend been nowhere as trying to get my new office ready for moving in...
Until next time soul peps......Have Your Fun
