  6. Well wot a turn up for the Books i havent read my own thread for ages shit its had a few viewings lol. It must have been grt meeting Frank wish i had been there.I clearly remember Frank turning up quite late most nits to the Casino Frank worked the door in Manchester so he arrived in his DJ and bow tie but not for long as he give the best fu..cking Strip show ever first he would start with the Jacket on then off it came followed by the bow tie and then the shirt down to the vest .Sweet spraying every where.Me as a spinner myself i watched his every move Frank jumped into a spin on to his cubin high heal and shit could he spin one hand on eather hip and changing to one hand in front and one at his back ,Stoping dead if any one got in his way only to pick them up and move them only for ther own saftey lol Give the man space for fuc..ks sake lol he moved to the music and looked well toned.plus extras LOL.the lad he always used to spin next to was Paul from bradford CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG a gud looking kid always give Frank a run for his money he was friends with my mate SQUEEK from Wolverhampton we where all spinners but Frank always mannage to take the lime lite all respect to one of the greatest on hit the dance floor . 7. I had a few grt nites in the Wirrina not one of my favorets but as a local venue for music all nite it lived up to the mark.. Although it was only up the road from where i lived in CambridgeTransport always seemed a big problem as every one want to go and cars where few .Not like the long distance niters where a select few of us attended religously. I made alot of good friends there some im glad to say i still see around gracing the dancfloors and some now DJs kicking out grt sounds till this day i pass the old place a few times a year during the course of my work and remember top sounds of the day booming through my head. I will miss seeing the last of its remains go. . But time moves on and so must we, and encorage other younger people to experance wot we still have, that is truley grt. So when its our time to go the the Soul scene lives on for more happy memories for others to cheerish like the grt nites at the Wirrina . Ask yourself this question have you interduced any one younger to the Soul secen in the last few years and Why not as its down to all of us who love it so much not to let it slip away as a distant memorie like nites at the Wirrina. The scene is still very much alive and floor fillers are still being uncoverd till this day it excites me to here them and dance my heart out to them so encourage others as they will surely love wot you have introduced them to . Yours in Soul Irish

  10. First went there on opening nite With my long time friend Tony Dellar (DJ) Richard Serling was the main DJ in the stainless steel & glass CAPSUL I bought DONA VALERIE on a demo of him only for it to be pressed the next week .Always wonderd how some casino DJs new when to sell well thats one you can work out for yourself . The place was small clean for a change i quite liked it.
  11. Just about every week for 3 years from the second week of its opening. Till to many ass holes jumped on the band wagon. Not to say some good soul people still attended after that but the place and the hard core crowd where being exploited by the media and some of the DJs sorry to say. I ask myself dose it matter if you went only once or a hundred times as long your listening to the stuff thats got SOUL and gets you up and on the floor thats wot counts.
  12. We were all entertained by the music but also the fantastic dancers who gave us so much pleasure to watch! Those I remember by name were: Fank Booper, Matchy, Jethro & Squeek (Wolverhampton) to name just a few!
