  1. Russ and his claim to fame rolls on yes he opened the gate for the cas club ,( why didn't he offer a rental fee ) I honestly don't remember Richard playing it at the time but actually who cares ,Kenny burrell turning up at the Ritz Manchester with it in his box sat next table to us with a chain and padlock on it to keep the titanic down ....for one record this has gone on enough to stretch anyones limitations of who played what ,where it come from ....at the end of the day did we all not DANCE to it ??? i'd want 600 quid for my set, as a job lot

Betty Boo is £100 on a bad day,   £120 most days

    Dena Barnes : £70 easily

    The Delites:  £80-100

    Duke Browner :  £80-100

    Nabay: £70 plus

Lester Tipton, Tomangoes, Al Williams,  all go over 50

Flame n King,  has gone crazy,  i reckon someone would pay 80 quid, if they wanted it.

these are prices are what ive seen,  Pete Smith sells them at the lower price bracket,  but most sell round about what ive put above.

I'm sure  folk will disagree,  but believe me, if you want them,  you have to pay for em.

See thanks for your input lthere lies  the problem ,duke browner for instance 150-200 ive seen recently nabay and flame n king Higher, better boo anywhere from 90 ro 150 , than your quote but then lower on other mark ups but sold singular not as a set ,last set I saw went for over a grand ( not that im expecting ) that so into perspective its the strange world of northern soul if the market is there if not it ain't cheers Ian

A quick potted history on the technical side, bear in mind that its Friday and as always behind with all sorts...

Started in 1997, as a normal static html based site

Round 1999 started using a  cms (content management system) , which brought in memberships, forum, news, event guide, galleries, comments and similar, as been said may be described more as a bbs them days,

The forum side evolved a bit using different forum systems, which had to tie in with the cms system and so led to different memberships setups and resets, the current membership setup in use today started 2002.

Think we lost some 300 odd accounts once due to a database error, plus of course there were many members who have lost emails and forgotten passwords etc etc  and we do now have non-active accounts (3 years closure. 4 years deleted) prune policy,

Rare soul talk email list - was started as a stand alone email list on here by myself using topica approx. 2000 ? then along with David Flynn and later others (inc Chalky and Dave) evolved into the separate 'rare soul talk' forum

Forum posts on here start from 2002, and are all viewable ( some in teh archive section)  most other stuff (97-2002) has been archived and there are some old 1997-2000 website bits in our articles section.

As said just jumping in with some technical/geek stuff, topic makes some interesting reading, so back to you all...

makes sense for a friday Mike
