  1. Just over a couple of weeks to our much anticipated Anniversary Night at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday February 15th we have another quality DJ line up for the Ashton Brethren !! Just to clarify this is a £6 admission pay on the door event, no ticket required BUT judging by the enquiries we've received, early arrival is advisable to gain your seat in The Main Room or a table in the lounge, which doubles as a place to buy/sell/trade your 45s, whichever your preference. Please note we have managed to secure a 1am finish so that's six hours of the finest Rare and Underplayed Soul, we hit the ground running at 7pm !!! East Midlands Rare Soul man Mick H makes his DJ debut at Ashton, please check the thread regularly, for some sample spins you can expect to hear on the night !! Pete Hollander will be belatedly celebrating his 70th birthday and also making a welcome return behind the decks after a memorable set last year!!! Team Ukrainian Simon "Ringer/Fixer/Taste Maker/Sound Engineer Ingham, for one night only(maybe) will be finishing the evening, expect the usual high quality mix!! Add to the above list, occasional valet for Robbo the man who puts the SOUL in Manchester 18 (Gorton, for the uninitiated) is also back with us after a recent show stopping double deck set!!! Phil Dunn starts the evening off, to lay down the foundations for what is shaping up to be a memorable occasion!! Team Ukrainian OG Chris Churm will be striking out in a middle of the evening set, digging even deeper into an awesome play box!! Some amazing guest DJs already in the pipeline for this year, please keep your eyes on here and the Soul-Source event page thread for more details, as the year unfolds!!
  2. This Detroit Double Sider could well get an airing in the Euphoric last hour from Simon!! Always drags tired limbs back to the dance floor!!
  3. A Drop of Funky Edged Soul from Mick H that has people packing the Dance Floor !!!
  4. Yeah hope so mate, quality Soul !!!
  5. A Marmite record best describes the next track, file under Dance Floor Destroyer, hope Mick H brings this with him!!
  6. Could get played in the modern room as well
  7. Probably one of a few potential spinners of said tune mate and yeah luckily mine has a clean label
  8. WOW !! February is hotting up in The North West with TWO significant anniversaries at Culcheth with the Lowton Anniversary and of course Ashton Ukrainian Club!! Paris was right there will be some "Sleepless Nights" talking of which, hoping Simon Ingham gives this a spin, Happy Monday People!!!
  9. Those were the days, when you could pick quality records up without breaking the bank. Mine was £25 of Johnny Manship and round about the same time bought Pat +The Blenders for £30 in the record bar at Lowton off Flanny I think. A sea of Sharks was probably the best way to describe Lowton Record Bar, all waiting for a feeding frenzy of the vinyl kind, some proper bargain buys to be had. I remember Plumby having multiples of The Philharmonics, Jeez oh for a time machine and a bucket load of cash!!
  10. See you both next week mate
  11. Team Ukrainian Fixer Simon Ingham will be having a change of pace to give Chris a much needed break from closing the night! As usual expect a wide range of styles and Mid Tempo Anthems like this beauty!!
  12. With 2025 now in full swing and Business as usual, after a stunning opening event in January at Ashton Ukrainian Club!! We have our Anniversary night Saturday February 15th !! For which we have secured a 1am finish on the night and another top drawer line up, for the Ashton Faithful, with Mick H as our Guest DJ!! Mick is well known from his residency at Lifeline Niters and many weekenders all over Europe, looking forward to his debut set!!! East Manchester's finest Robbo will be back with us, with his usual no holds barred, eclectic mix of Dance Floor Faves!! Pete Hollander will be belatedly carrying on his 70th Birthday celebrations and making a welcome return behind the decks, after a memorable set last year, should be good!! Team Ukrainian Fixer and Robbo's Valet, Simon Ingham is back with us after a last minute change of plans for the January event!! I believe Lord Ashton AKA Chris Churm gets a chance to strutt his stuff earlier in the proceedings this time, so for one month only, The Fixer, becomes the Finisher, in an intriguing juxtaposition sure to be a Quality Last hour !! Phil Dunn will be opening the proceedings with his usual across the board mix, before manning the door. The admission £6 pay on the door, still an absolute bargain!!! We've had a few enquiries regards record sales, sales boxes are welcomed, probably advisable to arrive early to guarantee a table in the lounge area. The Anniversary Night runs 7pm-1am Please check back regularly on our Soul-Source event page thread, for further updates and Sample DJ selections !!

This month's special guest DJ is Nottingham's Mick H, still actively running The Boat Club and of course was part of the resident team at Lifeline!! Returning with us with his postponed 70th birthday celebrations Pete Hollander best remembered for The Springfield Hotel sessions and Winsford Civic Niters!! That man Robbo will be bringing his unique DJ style, always a favourite at Ashton !! We have stayed firm with the admission price for a long time, but in today's economic climate and rising club costs, we have made a small increase in the admission fee which will be £6 going forward. I'm sure you'll agree still a bargain AND we have secured an extension for the anniversary, we run 7pm-1am See you there
