  2. I know exactly what you mean fella.

When i was looking for a Shirley Karol - Just to make you happy... i must have pm'd every single person on here who put records up for sale... plus asking every single person i came into contact with.

I had NEVER been so pro-active about getting hold of a record before... but could i get one... could i fig... despite the fact that it is only a cheap record.

Finally managed to get an issue of Ebay for about £12.

The bloke selling it said it wasn't in great nick... but i took the chance anyway simply because it was the only one i'd come across that was for sale.

I put a snipe of about £40 on it... ended up getting it for £12... and when it came i couldn't believe it... not a mark on it.

I still can't believe how many people i asked if they had a copy of this record for sale... oh well... i guess that's soul for ya!

did the same with shirley karol, bought one years ago for £30,sold it to god knows who, looking for one recently, saw one on ebay, bid quite high to win it,won it for..............£8.50 unbelievable, keeping hold of my lee fields, sounds just right for today

  3. One of the things I dislike about the scene is retards who dont handle records carefully in the record bar area boxing.gif

Many a time I have found marks on the playing area due to people being careless

or leave them hanging out of the box, dump them on the table, some appear to be telepathic, pulling records out talking to their mate down the room at the same time..........

  9. Thanks Carl - I did see that one, but its in less than great shape and was owned by Mike.

I've got a copy of The Ultimates on Capito which was once owned by the same "Mike" - Let's just say that I wont be buying any more records that he's had his hands on

    Take care

    John

Tiaras - stunning record. I know of only one DJ who carries this around fairly regularly - Bob Hinsley. Dunno if he would consider parting with it? Dog Rare I understand, best of luck with it. Would love a copy myself.

  13. ...are you saying that you have a copy on Fraternity, then, Mick? Ady and myself were talking about it up at Ace the other day and the general consensus is that it was never released and, seemingly, not even promoed. As with Davie, nobody that I know has ever seen one...

    TONE

PS: It's going to be issued on one side of the upcoming batch of Kent 45s...

I wish I had it on fraternity tony, got it on the kent anniversary single,I was referring to the released version by Ike&Tina, was talking about the fraternity issue only last night
  14. I`M AFTER THIS 45,ANYONE OUT THERE GOT IT FOR SALE.

    NEIL

Hi Neil, think this one is the charmaines ,minus gigi, great record not for sale I'm afraid, you might have more luck searching out the released version on sue by Ike&Tina Turner

    Mick

  15. And careful with the Garfield - many of the original issue 12s have a press fault that makes them jump & in my experience, its tough to find 7" copies that don't have needle wear - being styrene. I don't recall ever seeing a vinyl 45 ???

    Girf

got my garfield fleming 12" off jim o' hara when he was selling up,no jumps on mine, maybe a few dodgy presses of it knocking about, seem to remember commenting on tobi lark "challenge my love/sweep it out in the shed" being a bit expensive at £100
  16. The manager of the Birch banded poor old Robbo for for bringin in his own booze..he he whistling.gif

Yes those Thurs nites before Good Fri when Dickie Searling use to play i remember guesting

with Richard one of those nites and drinkin 13 bottles of Diamond White i think i was a

    little tipsy

DJ'd there towards the end of it's lifespan, tom always encouraged you to play something different, jim barry was co-promoting it with him at the time, had a great time, well apart from the man city fan, much the worse for drink, who'd wandered in from upstairs, kept asking me to play"some sexy music" :fool:
