  4. Monday Morning Banger, to shake off the cobwebs from "The Fixer" one half of "The Vinylfellas" Menacing Soul for the dancefloor!!!
    Another Great night at Culcheth, Baz M played a great opening hour of lesser played gems and the flip to The Dream Merchants, sounded a bit good, to these ears!! Great to see Bob Hinsley rolling back the years, double decking with Robbo, some tremendous stuff played. I enjoyed my impromptu set preceding them and managed to play Mike Roche his request , Cookie Scott "mislead" maybe set to have it's day in the sun?! Simon"The Fixer" Ingham played the usual high quality hour, we've come to expect Bo Fowler "upper hand" Keith + Billie "tastes sour, don't it" Hayes Cotton and finishing with the Mighty Chuck Cockerham and Little Rubin!! We caught the first half of Kev Murphy's last hour set Little Joe Roman and Frankie Beverley "because of my heart" a great way to kick start the set!! Spent a bit of time in a very busy Modern Room and That man Soul Sam had the crowd in the palm of his hand, pure quality!! If you haven't yet tried the event, you really are missing out, hats off to Baz Maleady for continuing to promote quality events in the North West, long may it continue!!   7. "Spring has Sprung", as we're only two weeks away from our Saturday March 15th date at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Amazing response yet again, please check back regularly, to see what we're all about on our Soul-Source event page thread!! Some quality musical additions constantly being added from our guest DJs. The ever popular Roger Banks joins us once again behind the decks, as we've come to expect, a whole myriad of Styles and tempos await The Ashton Brethren!! Chris Penn is making his Bi-Annual trip down the A1 to the North West, again mixing up the styles and constantly refreshing his playbox!! Some awesome selections via the link from Local Dark Horse Collector/DJ Geoff Stubbs, so check back regularly and feel free to RSVP the event!! Phil Dunn will be primed and ready from the off, for all our early birds, eager to grab either a table in the main room, or a sales pitch in our bar/lounge area!! That just leaves "The Fixer" and "The Finisher", as Bob H commented sounds like two Characters from a Martin Scorsese film Chris Churm and Simon Ingham AKA "The Vinylfellas" quality all the way. Please note no vinyl 45s were injured in the making of this production!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £6 admission pay on the door

  19. Saturday March 15th we spring back into action (pun intended) for our next event at Ashton Ukrainian Club!! Our Anniversary night exceeded expectations, with the place at full capacity!! Once again hats off to the Ashton Faithful, for your unwavering support, as promised Quality DJ line ups, throughout 2025. Pleased to welcome back Roger Banks, a quality DJ who entertains by the bucket load, with imaginative selections, across the Soul Spectrum and always has a quality selection of Sales 45s and Albums , so win, win!! Chris Penn is heading down the A1 to join us in the Soulful North West!! Again a former resident from the early days of the event, always adding to the playbox and deffo knows the score! Local Collector/DJ Geoff Stubbs a regular at Ashton will also be making an appearance behind the decks, look forward to his return. Team Ukrainian Fixer Simon Ingham is once again behind the decks, after a blistering last hour spot at The February Anniversary Night!! Phil Dunn will doing his customary "early doors" set, always mixing in forgotten oldies and some left fielders!! Ashton Ukrainian OG Chris Churm will holding it all together, but will he be doing the now legendary "last hour" spot, who knows??? The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £6 pay on the door, an absolute bargain me thinks!!
