  1. Saturday July 16th we're back "this time with feeling"!!
  2. Well as June drew to a close( where did that one go) The July event at Ashton Ukrainian Club is just over a week away!! Another stunning line up of DJs lined up Special Guest DJ this month we welcome Paul Shirley behind the decks along with Phil Dunn John Hillel Mick Howard and main man Mr Chris Churm another quality night of rare and under played soul music is on the cards for sure. The date for your diary Saturday July 16th running 7.30 pm-00.30 Admission just £5 pay on the door!! I believe this month we have a very special BIG Birthday celebration for Diddy Morgan . Not got Larry Santos mate, I'm sure we'll find something you like Dare I say early arrival is highly recommended !! See you there !
Sometimes in the lead up to an event you get a feeling(ripple-under current) call it what you will, BUT lots of people on here and facebook were all adding their intentions to attend what looked like a great night and it didn't disappoint!! Car park almost full for doors opening and I must admit to doing a double take and making my way up to the stage Luckily Baz spotted and drew my attention to the new deck set up just below the stage. Sir Bob was entertaining the masses with as ever quality spins from the halcyon days right up to present and Yep Sharon Jones sounded the business jumping out of those speakers. Next up Simon Ingham with some monster big hitters Celebrities " I choose you" Earnestine Eady "let's talk it over" Quality R+B Thornton Sisters on Cuppy and how good does Lee Rogers sound!! Carl + Maria followed again some of the biggies that we have come to associate them with Admirations on peaches, Jackie Day "naughty boy" and the odd curve ball Jimmy Burns "I really love you" instrumental version. I had the unenviable task of following after an emotion dripped last record John + The Weirdest "can't get over these memories" Thanks to Dave Hutchy for the kind words the new deck position left it open for the deck peerers Phew think I was alright Kev Murphy rounded off a great night Lester Tipton and many more. Lots of smiling faces and a busy dancefloor through out The Modern Room was as ever super busy, what a great night, look forward to August!!

  8. Saturday September 24th 2022 we celebrate the life of our great friend Paul Harris, known to many on here as an avid collector of Rare Soul 45s. If you're reading this you have more than likely bought records from Paul, he used to carry an amazing sales box to venues around the UK. Paul also promoted some quality events under " The Bradford Rare and underplayed soul nights" Some great memories from his various events around Bradford, particularly Morley Carr and Mill Lane. We have gathered together 18 rare soul DJs to entertain you, who have DJ'd for Paul over the years for the all day event at Rochdale Ukrainian Club Mere Street OL11 1HJ which runs 3pm until midnight. Admission is a very reasonable £5 which when you look at the line up we think it's a snip!! The Club has it's own free car park and there is also on street parking surrounding the club All proceeds will be donated to The Rochdale Branch of RSPCA a very worthy cause!! If you knew Paul from various niters, weekenders and soul nights, please come and join us in what is sure to be a memorable event!!
