Well our July event at Ashton Ukrainian seems to have captured the imagination, with people looking forward to re-visiting those spine tingling sessions at Lifeline Niters and more recently the innovative BVAN sessions, during the time when actually being in a club setting and hearing and dancing to these vinyl pearls was no more than a pipedream.
This club has taken off, beyond our wildest dreams and has become a lot of peoples "must do" night out!! Saturday July 15th we're delighted to welcome Lifeline Residents Andy Dyson, Karl Chalky White as guest DJs Allan Coney will be making the long trip down the A1 to play his debut set(let's hope he's on his best behaviour lol)
Stockport "taste maker and Ashton regular Simon Ingham, will be bringing the usual high quality mix to the night, along with Chris Churm and Phil Dunn .
Saturday July 15th is the date for your diary, the night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 pay on the door. We anticipate a busy night, judging by the feedback, so please arrive early, as seating and dancefloor space will be at a premium!!!
Please check out the thread for the event for a snap shot of what we're about.
You just know it's gonna be good!!

Yes deffo some memorable BVAN saturday nights on Radio King, when Pete's dulcet tones introduced the opening bars from Otis Clay's anthem "the only way was definitely up" Fast forward to 2023 and The Phoenix has risen from the ashes, sharing that BVAN ethos providing a quality saturday night for folk who like something a "little different" Couple that with a hefty slice of The much missed Lifeline niters and you have the perfect soulful recipe, no brainer really!!

So looking forward to playing out at my favourite night out....even though I should be retired 🤣
My shifts at work have kept me away most of this year so we better make it a good un. Great to be alongside my good mates Andy and Al as well. Been some time since myself and Andy were on the same lineup.
Don't forget this one Chalky, such a great record!!

Well who would have thought it, as well as this month's event having a nod to those heady niters at Lifeline. Ashton mainstay Simon Ingham created another memorable period and provided a shining light in the period of "lockdown" BVAN provided a platform for like minded souls to share their love and knowledge of the vinyl gems that were just waiting to have their day!! Quite a few of the BVAN regulars Wilxy, Steve Smith, Simon, Baz Maleady, Chalky, myself and many more are now regulars at Ashton, where we share a similar ethos(quality is the key, regardless of value or rarity)
A perfect example(to these ears anyway) is this gem from Gospel Soulman Ron Kenoly. I believe it had sporadic spins at stafford, deffo hits the spot!!

Another quality line up for our July 15th date at Ashton Ukrainian Club. We have a flavour of the fabulous Lifeline niter events, we welcome Andy Dyson and Chalky, two of the residents from an event, which definitely was a LIFELINE for the rare soul scene!! I'm sure Chalky can give us some background regards the ethos and history of the events, which kicked off at Sheridans in Dewsbury and boasted a stellar resident line up that also included Butch, Mick H, Cliff Steele.
Alan Coney one of the scene's characters from the North East, with an amazing collection will be making his debut at Ashton, along side Stockport's finest Simon "enthusiast" Ingham with a non too shabby collection. As ever Sir Chris Churm and Phil Dunn complete what(we think) is an amazing line up!!
See you there!!!
