Another great night at The Ukrainian Club, a packed house and we say it every month, BUT it just gets better and better, with more new faces, lapping up the atmosphere. Great sets by all ,the usual classy opening set from Phil. Derek Watmough followed playing some classy crossover dancers, mixed in with some great forgotten oldies and as promised played Archie Bell 1000 wonders for Stu and Katie's anniversary, a nice touch. Paul Shirley followed with a full hour of jaw dropping rare 45s, too many to mention !! Chris Penn followed with an extended set and boy was he enjoying himself, on his return behind the decks. A busy dance floor through out, quality was the watchword, all styles, mixing the tempos!! Chris Churm finished a truly great night in fine style, finishing with one of my all time favourites The Dells "make sure" (spine tingling) Christmas comes early to the Ukrainian Club in December, due to club commitments, we switch from the usual third saturday in the month to Saturday December 10th. Watch out for more details of that on the events page, real soon

Saturday November 19th is the date for your diary, running 7.30pm-00.30 and a mere £5 admission pay on the door. Chris Penn former resident at Ashton makes a long awaited return behind the decks. Please check the youtube links for a flavour of the musical selections on offer! Anchor man AKA Phil Dunn kicks the night off as ever and Bolton's Derek Watmough will be digging deep into his collection and I believe a special request is on the cards for a great couple, celebrating their wedding anniversary Stu and Katie Cheetham. Chris Churm will be weaving his magic, blending the styles and tempos!! Lots of great feedback already for a pretty special night, so an early arrival is recommended. Phil Dunn and impressario Chris Churm along with Bolton's Derek Watmough complete another special line up. Feedback already through the roof in anticipation of John Parkers set(no pressure mate) and I'm sure you'll agree the support cast is non too shabby!! This year has absolutely flown at a rate of knots, our November date at Ashton Ukrainian Club is now just around the corner!! Saturday November 19th, we welcome John Parker and his amazing collection of rare soul as our Special Guest DJ, also former Ukrainian Club Resident Chris Penn makes a welcome return from The North East add to that Bolton's Derek Watmough!! Phil Dunn our first hour "mood setter" is now turning a few heads with some wonderful "forgotten oldies" and a few left field things for the deck peerers. Holding it all together one of the scene's unsung heroes Chris Churm, who me and Simon agree, doesn't realise just how good he is!!! Last month set the bar even higher, with yet more first time attendees, it just gets better and better. Admission a mere £5 pay on the door, please arrive early to avoid disappointment, another top drawer night in prospect!!

One year on from the re-launch at Ashton Ukrainian Club, we took it onto another level!! Hats off to Rob Haigh who arrived at 6.20 pm to beat the rush WOW!!! I'm sure you weren't disappointed, our busiest and dare I say it BEST Night yet!! Phil Dunn kicked the night off with a great mix of quality oldies. I followed and as always it's a DJs delight with a dancefloor always up for something different!! I'll add my playlist later for a flavour of the night! Ted Massey followed and smashed it out of the park, a great mix of classy crossover, current niter spins and some banging R+B. I've added a small video snippet below, to capture the atmosphere on the night, you really had to be there!! My Welsh brother from another mother Mr Steve Thomas entered the fray, pure energy and the Welsh Dragon was roaring with delight as the dancefloor lapped up his selections, nice to see Steve stretching out and digging deeper into the collection for some great crossover dancers, mixed in with classic Northern, great set Sir!! Rounding off the night our main man Chris Churm just when you thought it couldn't get any better, IT DID!!! Lots asking about a later finish, we are trying with the club managment, so watch this Space!! Saturday November 19th our next night, we welcome John Parker and the return from the North East of Chris Penn and Derek Watmough completes another quality guest DJ line up.Keep your eye on the events page on here and soul-source as we near the time!!
