Sensational night at Ashton Ukrainian Club!! Once again on a super busy event calendar saturday night, people turned up in their droves and we thank you for making us your venue of a choice, a near full house, says a lot, with more new faces, soaking up the atmosphere!! Stu Cheetham was chomping at the bit, so the tunes were flowing before the 7pm start!! Jades "lucky fellow" Clara Hardy and many more, deffo no warm up spot. Next up the eagerly awaited debut from Debbie Carty with quite a few coming down to experience "The Twisted Grooves"!! She didn't disappoint!! I did the 8.30-9.30 spot, bit of a mixed bag, seemed to do the trick, thanks for dancing!! Tony Mac followed and a full floor throughout tells it's own story, absolute quality!! Chic Mullineux took over and smashed it out of the park, just brilliant, too many stand out tunes, pick of the bunch for me The Superbs "wind in my sails" along with The Nurons, Chuck Holiday and you get the picture!! Lord Ashton Chris Churm rounded off another stand out event Volumes "ain't gonna give you up" had people running back to the floor, some quality crossover winners Bonnie Blanchard, Vivien Copeland(chaos) and a liberal sprinkling of Big city Soul Roy Hamilton "panic is on, George Freeman right up to the last track San Franciscan TKOs "make up your mind" You sure did, once again Ashton Faithful take a bow!! Watch out for the soul-source events page and on here, for details of our next event, we welcome John Parker, it's gonna be good!!! August 23 Ashton Video.mp4

Deffo Steve Caesar at the 1st anniversary I was there, from memory dancing to Terrible Tom "we were made for each other" A memorable night for many reasons, four of us travelled down, only two had tickets. We were offered a lift on Victoria Station in the back of a transit van, with some "tasty" characters in the back, ended up en-route at some flat around Salford way.Let's just say it was like a scene from "trainspotting" managed to buy tickets outside the casino at face value, seem to remember off a guy from Sheffield called Pev? anyone know/remember him? Remember walking up the steps going in, when the doors opened sweat, noise and atmosphere, smacked you in the face!! Reperata and the Delrons "panic" was blasting out of the speakers(massive record at that time) spine tingling doesn't begin to describe it. Think it was the first night of M's we bumped into the driver of the van, who offered us a lift to the Rose Rooms Burnley all dayer the next day, think we realised we'd rode our luck out and plumped for the agonisingly slow train back to Manchester from Wigan Wallgate Aaah the memories!! -
Lots of people have described Ashton Ukrainian as an old school soul night, with a playlist to grace any all-nighter. The quality starts early, catch Stu Cheetham, tearing up the dancefloor with vinyl gems like this !!
