Gis Southworth will be providing some top notch "cyberman" soul for your dancing feet, remember this getting a spin, in the much missed Kenwood suite at Bury Town Hall. Time for a re-activation me thinks at Ashton!!

Just over a week to go to the April instalment at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday April 22nd we swing back into action!!
Another great line up awaits and looking forward to John Weston making his debut behind the decks alongside Bolton's Finest Paul Johnson on the back of last years amazing set and the second leg of his mini tour of the North West lol. Bringing a flavour of the heady days of The Stafford Niters, Preston's Gis Southworth is another Ukrainian Club Debutant.
Add to that making the not so long trip from East Lancs Geoff Buckley is also playing a return set, expect the best of The Motor City and much more for your dancing feet.
As ever Ukrainian Club stalwart Phil Dunn and Lord Ashton Chris Churm will be there to set the mood for what is promising to be another busy night, so please arrive early!!
Don't forget our now earlier start, the night runs 7pm-00.30. Admission just £5 pay on the door, please check back on the thread for a "try before you buy" sample of The DJ delights on the night!!

Easter is fast approaching and only two weeks to the next Ashton Ukrainian Club. This month we move one week forward from our usual third saturday, due to previous club bookings. Saturday April 22nd is the date for your diary.
Another star studded line up, this time making his Ukrainian Club Debut John Weston , we also look forward to the return of Bolton's Paul Johnson after a blinding set last year !! Add to that East Lancashire's Detroit Soul Aficianado Geoff Buckley. Kenwood suite regular and one of the founder members of "The Preston Cybermen" Gis Southworth will also be making his debut.
Phil Dunn as ever kicks the whole thing off and Mr Ashton Chris Churm completes another impressive line up.
Don't forget our now earlier regular start time, the night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 pay on the door(what's not to like)?
We will as ever be featuring some sample sound bites on the thread please keep checking back for more updates and feel free to RSVP the event!!

Yes everybody, slight change to the line up. John Hillel unfortunately can't make tonight. We'll get John back on real soon. Meanwhile not a bad Substitute,Stockport's finest export Simon Ingham will be joining us behind the decks. See you all later and don't forget we start at 7pm!!!

We're on the cusp of a busy old weekend on the soul scene and Ashton Ukrainian Club is primed and ready to deliver Five and Half hours of Rare and underplayed Soul Magic!!
Please note our new earlier start time, we are now running 7pm-00.30 with 6 DJs ready to squeeze every drop out of a much anticipated night!!
"Anchor Man" Phil Dunn kicks the proceedings for all our "early birds" Mr Motivator our very own Fitness Guru Stu Cheetham will be putting you through your paces with high octane fuelled Soul Music for the dancefloor. John Hillel AKA "slipmat"makes a welcome return behind the decks and will, I'm sure be road testing the stylus for us LOL.
Some bloke called Mick Howard will be filling in the gaps. Lord Ashton Chris Churm will be supplying the ultimate blend of the seldom heard and the just plain good soul music, for the dancers. Making the Loooong trip back from the North East Chris Penn will be rounding the night off in fine style, with some top drawer "rare as you dare" moovers and seldom heard classics!!
Admission just £5 pay on the door, a quick mention for our lovely bar staff who have kindly agreed to start the event earlier.
Wayne King will be holding court with the Stockport Posse in the lounge area, a great place to catch up and our inhouse speakers will be piping the music from the main room, so you won't miss any of the quality tunes on offer, please check out thread for a taster of the sounds on offer from the soul-source event page thread.
As ever, please arrive early and feel free to RSVP the event, if you haven't tried us yet, you really are missing a trick!!

Well as winter has it's final fling, we have the perfect remedy to put a "spring" in your step!! Pun fully intended lol
Just over a week to go to the the next Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday March 18th is the diary date for all things soulful from 60s/70s forgotten oldies, underplayed gems and current monsters all aimed firmly at the dancefloor!!
Making the trip back from the North East, former Ukrainian Club resident Chris Penn, is joined behind the decks by our fitness guru making the long trek down from Failsworth Stu Cheetham.
Ashton head honcho Chris Churm John Hillel Phil Dunn and Mick Howard make for another(we think) impressive line up!!
The night is scheduled to run 7.30pm-00.30 BUT watch this space as we are in negotiations for an earlier start for all you eager beavers!! Admission an inflation busting £5 pay on the door.
Please, please arrive early as the room fills up in the blink of an eye!!
The bar/lounge area comes complete with our in house speakers, so you won't miss a beat, as you catch up with friends, old and new.
