This Saturday October 21st we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the Re-Launch at Ashton Ukrainian Club. To mark the occasion we've booked a quality line up for The Ashton Faithful and of course our ever growing list of new attendees. Mark Jones will be making his debut with an amazing playbox, samples of which can be found on the page thread, please feel free to RSVP the event, as so many have already done!! Kev Murphy will be delving deep into his collection, some real stunners lined up for you ! Chris Penn makes the loooong journey back down the A1 from the North East, some classy crossover and rare as you dare dance floor winners coming your way, so don't miss that. An all too rare appearance from Pete Hollander completes the guest DJs with Phil Dunn and Chris Churm starting and finishing the night respectively in fine style!! We are still one of the best value for money monthly nights out there, a mere five English pounds, gets you a slice of the action. Running 7pm-00.30 . As ever please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Sales boxes most welcome in the "lounge lizard" area. A truly great night awaits, see you there!!!

Micksmix commented on Jumpinjoan's article in News Archives
There's a clip on the original documentary, interviewing Dave Withers. He pondered what he would do if the casino closed? He said it would be instant nostalgia and would be like spending the rest of your life constantly looking back ! -
See you Saturday Dave

100 Club 44th Anniversary Single - Miss Louistine
Micksmix replied to Mike's topic in All About the SOUL
Miss Loustine, is my preferred side, would have been a big spin at the Mecca I reckon, as it has all the hallmarks, of the stuff that was getting played around 75 -
Well two years have flown by from the October 2021 re-launch of Ashton Ukrainian Club. We've had some amazing nights and been treated to some stunning DJ sets from an array of guests with playlists to rival any quality all-nighter. Saturday October 21st we welcome Kev Murphy, resident DJ at Culcheth and the much missed Lowton Civic Hall nights. Shropshire's finest Mark Jones will be joining Kev as an Ashton Debutant, expect the finest in rare and underplayed soul, with a few surprises. Really pleased to welcome Pete Hollander back behind the decks. Pete was responsible for the Winsford niters in the late 90s and more recently The Springfield , if Pete's in attendance you know it's gonna be a good night. Former Ukrainian Club resident Chris Penn will be making the long trip back down the A1 from the North East, quality Soul Music assured !! Starting the whole thing off Phil Dunn, playing his customary across the board set. Last but definitely not least Chris Churm after a stunning closing set in September, that turned a few heads As ever, please arrive early, to avoid disappointment!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 admission pay on the door. Check out the thread for more updates and our "try before you buy" sound bites from our guest DJs, please feel free to RSVP the event!!
