    Early Shout for our "Mid Summer Soulstice" at Ashton Ukrainian Club. After a night in May that has to be right up there with the best nights we've had to date(bar set really high) we're back!! Saturday June 17th is the date for your diary!!

    We welcome the return from over t' big hill Gibby Gibby back behind the decks. The line up this time has a real North West vibe showcasing some of the quality collections around the Manchester and Tameside area!!

    Tony Mac will be digging deep a guy who has been around from the halcyon days of the scene and some of those heady nights at The Pendulum Club and beyond!! Dave Flynn and John Baggaley did an amazing double deck set last year, expect more of the same. Myself, Chris Churm and Phil Dunn complete another great line up.

    Admission just £5 pay on the door, the night gets busy real quick, so please arrive early and sample that "it" factor atmosphere that is pretty hard to beat !!

    No rest for the wicked, as the dust settles on a monumental night in May. Saturday June 17th, we welcome Yorkshire's Gibby back for a return set. Another top night guaranteed. Local legend Tony Mac will be digging deep for some more dance floor gems, along with Dave Flynn and John Baggaley and myself.

    This hit the spot last time out big time!!!

    The weekend is here and Ashton Ukrainian Club is primed and ready to deliver another quality night of rare and underplayed soul music for your delectation. Saturday May 20th is the date!!
    We have a top drawer DJ line up!! As ever expect the unique "Atmosphere" that this event constantly delivers, where quality is the ethos of the night, regardless of price or rarity and like minded people show their appreciation on our smaller but perfectly formed dancefloor.
    The anticipation of another busy night, means early arrival is advisable, lots of on street parking close to the venue. We start as ever at 7pm-00.30 and still just £5 admission pay on the door(absolute bargain)
    Quick update Tsop Manchester will be bringing the residue of the CDs from the Karl Rhodes memorial night, if you missed out at the recent Culcheth event, here's your chance to pick a copy up, top quality tracks BTW and all going to very worthy cause!!

    Looking forward to Baz Maleady back behind the decks at the Ukrainian Club. One of my all time favourite Soul Singers Linda Jones, recorded so many great records that have seen turntable action over the years, this one seems to have grabbed the attention recently and rightly so!!

    Just over a week to our next night at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday May 20th is shaping up to be another cracker.

    As ever another quality line up, with some real pedigree on the Rare Soul Scene.

    Phil Dick will be well known to most for his "Detroit A Go Go" events and before that at various events in and around Bradford.

    Baz Maleady another quality DJ and non too shabby promotor of The Culcheth "spirit of Lowton events, also being a major player on the crossover/ modern circuit with The excellent "spirit of the Orwell" nights at Haydock, proving real poplular with folk with an open mind on quality soul music. The Saints Club in St Helens being the catalyst for "pushing the boundaries" soul music through the Lowton Civic Hall period to present day.

    Phil Threlfall known more recently for the "ground breaking" Grumpy Soul Nights. Phil has been a stalwart on the scene in the post Wigan period from Morecambe Pier, Stafford TOTW and beyond, expect the unexpected!!

    Bolton's Derek Watmough will be adding the usual classy selection from all eras, being a regular from the early days of OUR music!!

    Phil Dunn will be starting the night, again mixing the classics and a few " curve balls"!! Pinning the whole thing together Ashton Main Man Chris Churm probably the most unassuming DJ you will ever meet. His records speak for themselves!!!

    Please remember our now earlier start time running 7pm-00.30 and an interest rate busting £5 pay on the door!!

    Our regulars and new attendees never cease to amaze with the distances they travel for this quality event, many thanks!!

    If you ever attended Grumpy Soul in all it's guises you'll know to expect a wicked selection of Rare Soul from Phil T, basically expect the unexpected!!

    Looking to add some sample selections from our last event in April as a taster for May 20th!!!

    Another busy old weekend ahead, looking very healthy in the footfall at quality events, playing something a bit different. Culcheth and Manchester Soul Weekend being a good reference point, this weekend.

    Just over two weeks to the next Ashton Ukrainian Club May 20th running at our new earlier start time 7pm-00.30 Five and half hours quality soul music from 60s/70s AND just £5 admission pay on the door!!

    Culcheth main man Baz Tsop Manchester Maleady makes a return behind the decks joining Phil Dick and Phil Threlfall..........hang on a minute Ashton regular starting the night Phil Dunn that's three Phil's hmmm bit of a theme going on here lol

    Breaking the chain Ashton originator Chris Churm and Bolton's Derek Watmough, complete a strong line up.

    The lounge area is the place to be, for a good old social and browse the odd sales box, you just never know what you might find!!!

    Please arrive early, as we anticipate another busy night. Lots of parking available in the surrounding streets. Once again we take our hats off to our regulars and new attendees, you make it all worthwhile.

    After some amazing feedback from April's Ashton Ukrainian Club, there's no let up as we look forward to an awesome line up for our next date Saturday May 20th.

    Mr Detroit A Go Go Phil Dick will be making his way across the pennines for a return behind the decks after an amazing debut set in 2022!! Grumpy Soul innovator Phil Threlfall another returnee DJ will be joining us again(quality all the way) Tsop Manchester (Culcheth Head Honcho) Baz Maleady will be digging deep into one of the most complete collections out there, you just know it's gonna be good!!

    Bolton's Derek Whatmough will also be joining us along with Ashton "Anchor Man" Phil Dunn and birthday boy Chris Churm complete an amazing lineup.

    We are back on our normal third saturday in the month after the easter holidays, not forgetting our earlier start time 7pm-00.30.

    Lots of interest already, so put the date in your diary and as ever early arrival is an absolute must do!!

    We have our inhouse sound system piped into the bar area for all you lounge lizards and vinyl junkies!!

    £5 admission pay on the door, gets you a slice of the action !!

    A slight change to tomorrows line up. Unfortunately Geoff Buckley can't make tomorrow night. We have a more than able replacement, Ashton Regular John Hillel has stepped into the breach. See you all tomorrow 

    The weekend beckons, bringing with it a great buzz in anticipation of the April Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday Aprill 22nd is the date for your diary!!

    Please don't forget our now regular earlier start time, running 7pm-00.30 and still only £5 admission, pay on the door. Early arrival is a must, as the room fills up real quick.

    A tremendous line up of DJs await John Weston renowned West Midlands DJ will be debuting, we also look forward to some "cyberman bangers" from the Stafford period and beyond with Preston's Gis Southworth ably assisted by Bolton's finest Paul Johnson if you caught his set last year, you will not be disappointed!! East Lancashire's "Mr Detroit" Geoff Buckley will be making a welcome return. Kicking the proceedings off in fine style Phil Dunn and last but definitely not least one of the corner stones of the club's success Chris Churm will be WOWING us all with the usual quality array, of Rare Soul.

    The Lounge area will be in full effect with our in house sound system filtering the soulful sounds for those who want to purchase the odd vinyl gem and catch up with friends.
