Into the final few days in the run up to Saturday and that man from Jollyhead has selected an all time classic, still getting spins today!!!

Using artistic licence, for Chris Anderton's next selection, as it wasn't on his list, but IMO should be, great mid tempo from an Iconic Group !!

This time we have a Detroit classic, that always lights up the dancefloor !!

Top drawer night at Culcheth for "The Grumpy Takeover" music off the scale and as promised aimed firmly at the dancefloor from the first record. We arrived at 7.45pm and the room was already filling up, always a good sign!! Always a pleasure to catch Carl Fortnum in the North West , outstanding choices, also enjoyed Kev Murphy's set, BUT as already stated, not a bad record played all night. Well done all!!

Next selection from Jollyhead maestro Steve Thomas and pure class, as you would expect!!

Dipping our toes into November and we're just over two weeks to the next Ashton Ukrainian Club, some folk saying last month, was the best yet!! We aim to please and the positive feedback makes it all worthwhile! We strive to provide an old school rare soul club atmosphere, with top quality DJs to entertain the Ashton Faithful! Another top drawer DJ line up awaits on Saturday November 18th. The main man from The Dab of Soul Weekenders Chris Anderton returns to the fray, expect some classy crossover, Niter classics and so much more. Steve Thomas will be winging his way down the M56 laden down with more Rare Soul gems for the dancefloor, after a scorching set last year!! Looking forward to Charles Simpson making his debut at the club and as Matthew Simpson rightly said, bringing the average age of our soul spinners down by a decade or four lol Laying the foundations for the night's musical menu, Phil Dunn with the usual quality mix. Chris Churm and Mick Howard complete the line on another busy weekend on the rare soul calendar!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and a bargain busting £5 admission pay on the door gets you in and involved and maybe on our international soul vlogger Darren Carroll video capture, what's not to like ? Sales boxes a plenty in the lounge lizard area, with the soulful vibes, piped in from the main room!! Please check back on the soul-source event page thread regularly and feel free to RSVP the event to sample our guest DJs selections, see you on the floor!!

After another storming night in October at Ashton Ukrainian Club, no let up in the pace Saturday November 18th, we welcome back Chris Anderton bringing a "DAB of soul" and so much more, after a breathtaking set last year!! Another returning DJ all the way from Jollyhead Steve Thomas, if you were there last year, you just know it's gonna be good!! Bringing down the average age of the DJ line up by a decade or two Charles Simpson , comes highly recommended judging by the hour I caught at The Rugby all nighter !! Our residents Lord Ashton Chris Churm Phil Dunn and Mick Howard complete another pretty special line up!!! For a few sample spins and the usual banter check back on the soul-source event page thread . The thread contains regular updates for the night, so please check back regularly and as ever feel free to RSVP the event as so many have already done!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 pay on the door, stunned by the early birds last month, so please arrive early, as it gets busy real quick!!!

WOW !! Two years since the re-launch at Ashton Ukrainian Club was celebrated in fine style. This club has continued on an upward trajectory with last night, high on the you had to be there nights!! Phil Dunn played a great opening set, with real good mix of forgotten oldies and current spins!! Stu Cheetham owned the super sub status in his usual high energy style, dragging folk to the dancefloor a great start to the proceedings!! Kev Murphy followed and pulled some real gems out for the dancers "I'm your yes man" Edith Brown "you did it" amongst so many!! Chris Penn followed and he didn't disappoint some heavy weight 60s dancers and cool 70s dancers particularly Little Reuben hit the sweet spot!! well done that man!! Mark Jones was making his debut and went straight into the fray The Professionals, not a bad opening number!! Superbs "wind in my sails" and many more over a slightly extended set! Lord Ashton Chris Churm sent the Ashton Faithful home singing and dancing kicking off with Moses Smith "come on let me love you" Chimes "beginning of my life " sounded just right for the moment, ending with with classics like The Ascots "another day" you get the picture!! Great to see Alan Jenkins raring to go again with this insatiable disease/desire we all have collecting "Black Gold" it's a madness but we love it!! Nice to catch up with Paul Baldwin one of the lynch pins of the much missed Lowton Civic hall nights!! Our next night November 18th promises more of the same, when we welcome Steve Thomas and Chris Anderton as our guest DJs, please check out the updates on Facebook and soul-source, once again humble thanks for making us your venue of choice!!
