Talking of dancefloors, I'm sure the dancefloor of the Blackpool Highland room was carefully removed by Brian Wakelin and sold on Ebay.

I'll bet the Westhoughton CC dancefloor would have made a nice rabbit hutch.🤣

Hot on the heels (literally) of a scorching night at Ashton Ukrainian Club in November. Our Christmas/end of year special is just over two weeks away Saturday December 9th is the date for your diary!! As an added bonus and a big thanks from everybody at "Team Ukrainian" we have secured a later finish.

Big, Big thanks to our hardworking Bar Staff who have agreed to this!!

We will be running 7pm-1am, all for just £5 that's SIX hours of quality soul music, unbeatable value we reckon!!

With an all star DJ line up, it's sure to be a memorable night, with yet more stunning DJ line ups for 2024!!!

Making her Ashton Debut Jumping Joan, if you attended the last Grumpy take over night at Culcheth, you know you're in for a treat. Staying with "The Ladies of Soul" Luci Jones will also be Debuting on the night, again well known for her residency at one of THE Hot Ticket niters at the moment "The Gathering"

We're delighted to welcome Roger Banks behind the decks, if you didn't know Roger used to live locally in the late 80s, early 90s and was a regular DJ at Hyde Botanical, Concorde Suite, Droylsden niters and of course Hyde Town Hall niters. It's going to be a special night, the interest already is phenomenal, with lots staying over already booked, so PLEASE,PLEASE arrive early, as a busy night awaits!!

Stockport's finest and Team Ukrainian, fixer and Top DJ Simon Ingham, will also be joining us behind the decks, expect some top notch rare soul monster spins and some bargain basement dusty 45s that you didn't know you wanted to dance to!!

Phil Dunn will be kick starting the night off and Lord Ashton Chris Churm will ensure The Ashton Faithful go home, singing and dancing!!

Nearly forgot our resident personal trainer and ACE DJ Stu Cheetham will be celebrating his 40th birthday(for the 17th time lol)

Thanks once again for your continued support, throughout 2023 it really is appreciated !!

Please keep checking back regularly on the thread, for updates and some tasty DJ selections and of course feel free to RSVP the event !!

Taste maker Simon Ingham, will be digging deep into the boxes, bring you the rare and seldom played in equal measure. A Detroit gem that's lived far too long in the shadows of it's more expensive to buy label release. The group had three releases on Valtone, file under rarely played dance floor dynamite!!

Luci Jones has been tearing up the dancefloors at places like "The Gathering" with this little underplayed gem, that has been kicking about on lists at not very much!! I've always rated this, hard hitting Chicago gem. Hear it "live and loud" on December 9th yesss please!!

Looking forward to a Christmas Cracker, at this great venue, after the recent near sell out night for the Grumpy takeover. Expect some more Rare Soul gems, forgotten oldies and so much more. With a great line up to boot, what's not to like!!

Our end of year, pre-Christmas Special, another blinding line up for you. Roger Banks making a welcome return to the area, as he lived and DJ'd in the area late 80s, early 90s, memories of Hyde Botanical Club, Hyde and Droylsden all Nighters. Jumping Joan is another Ashton debutant DJ, bringing the heat, with a guaranteed high octane soul music for the dancefloor. Luci Jones has been turning a few heads of recent with Funky Edge/Hard hitting soul music, again aimed squarely at the dance floor!  Team Ukrainian, "fixer" and non too shabby DJ Simon Ingham will be back behind the decks, with some classy rare soul and as always championing the cheaper and underplayed gems!!

Lots of people already booking overnight stays locally for our finale night. We aim to finish in fine style, with 2024 just around the corner and more quality DJ line ups in the pipe line, see you there!!!

This Saturday November 18th we look forward to the penultimate event for 2023 at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Young Charles Simpson is having a double celebration, after a successful stint at University, congratulations are in order as full time employment awaits AND the not so small matter of his Debut set at Ashton, no pressure then mate lol!!

Chris Anderton brings a DAB of Soul to the proceedings, after another stunning weekender in Llandudno, expect more of the same and then some on Saturday!! Just up the coast and across the Menai Bridge, Steve Thomas will be with us, on the second leg of a whistle stop tour of the North West( how does he do it)??

Phil Dunn ,Head Honcho Chris Churm and Mick Howard (team Ukrainian) complete an all star line up!!

The night runs an action packed five and a half hours 7pm-00.30 and just £5 admission pay on the door. Judging by the response so far, another early arrival is a must, to grab a slice of the action!!

A wide and varied playlist awaits, check out the thread for a selection of our guest DJs dancefloor delights (be rude not to) !!!

Looking like a Super Busy weekend in the offing, we thank you as ever, for making us your venue of choice!!

Using artistic Licence for Charles Simpson's next selection, as I remember him playing this at the Rugby Niter anniversary in February and BTW celebrations are in order after Charles's university studies have paid off with a full time job, congrats mate!!
