We're into December, not far off the event and as we like to do start of the week, a wake up call from Alan Jenkins. A record originally played as far back as the latter days of Wigan, courtesy of Gary Rushbrook and has remained rare and always in demand with collectors and the dancers !!

Ending the week on a high, with an iconic Rarity from the early days AND courtesy of Alan Jenkins, we get to experience it loud and proud!!

WOW!!! Staggering response already, to our December event at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Please note we run a week earlier than our normal third Saturday in the month, due to club commitments. Saturday December 14th is the date for your diary, people already talking about making a night of it and staying over!! Finishing off an unbelievable year in fine style, with another quality guest DJ line up. Alan Jenkins makes a welcome return, a quality DJ with an amazing collection of Rare Soul, please check back regularly on the thread, for some choice snippets from our guest spinners!! Natalie Nicholls the driving force behind Wolfies Soul nights in Walsall also has some choice cuts for your dancing feet, it's Natalie's debut spot at Ashton and I know she's looking forward to it, no pressure lol !!! Dean Anderson will also making his Ashton debut, check out Dean's excellent weekly Thursday night radio show "sound of soul" on Radio Newark, some interesting guests coming up in the next few weeks!! Dean is a stalwart of our scene from the early days at Wigan, through Stafford, Shotts, 100 club and many more!! Phil Dunn will be opening the proceedings, expect the usual and varied mix of sounds as the room fills up!! Lord Ashton Chris Churm is back with us, after taking a well deserved rest in November, along with Mick Howard (who??) from Team Ukrainian to complete the line up!! The bar area will be doing a brisk trade in Quality Ukrainian Beverages and the odd bit of Quality Soul 45s from the various sales boxes!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and £5 gets you into our Pre-Christmas celebrations, please arrive early !!

A Big Bad Bob Hinsley spin as I recall and one I got for a bargain price off Soul Bowl, sadly no longer in the collection!!

We have two Debutant DJs this month Dean Anderson a regular on the scene from The Halcyon days at Wigan, through Stafford and beyond and presenter of the excellent "sound of soul" show on Radio Newark !! Natalie Nicholls an Ashton regular will also be making her DJ debut. Promotor of the excellent Wolfies Soul Sessions in Walsall. Expect a high Octane hour of Rare Soul played from the heart!! Alan Jenkins will be joining us once again after a brilliant set last time, expect some Rare Soul Master Pieces hitting the decks, all aimed firmly at the dancefloor!!
