  4. After another amazing night in April at Ashton Ukrainian Club, we switch focus to what is sure to be the most talked about Rare Soul Event in recent times!! We proudly welcome The Number one Rare Soul DJ bUTCH as the headline guest for our May event, we are now SOLD OUT of our ticket allocation for the event, after an avalanche of interest in the night. There's sure to be some mouth watering selections in an extended 90 mins set , from the Maestro!! We kept the ticket admission at the usual £5 as a massive thank you to our Loyal Supporters!! This event has evolved from a locally supported event in the early days, that was trying to play something "a bit different"!! We now proudly attract support and DJs from all over the UK, a monumental achievement for Team Ukrainian !! Birthday Boy and the Originator of the whole thing Chris Churm Phil Dunn (boy will he be busy on the night lol) Mick Howard and Stockport and Merseyside's finest(sorry couldn't resist) Simon Ingham will be the support cast and we can't wait!!! Saturday May 18th is the date, please don't travel if you haven't secured a ticket, as we have to be strict on numbers!! Keep checking back on the soul-source thread for updates, as we near the event!!!
A bit of a Whirlwind last night, in the words of Tim Ashibende a real diverse mix of music. All kicked off by Phil Dunn as always a varied and interesting mix. Debutant DJ Gamekeeper Jones followed quality soul from the early 60s "toast to the lady" sounded great all over again and the brilliant Paul Sindab "I was a fool" the stand out tracks for me. We had a two hour double deck session from birthday boy John Weston and Les Norman Barbara Hall "big man" not a bad start to the proceedings Clarence Hill "a lot of loving going round" and many more right across the spectrum of rare soul!! Cometh the hour cometh the man Tim Ashibende absolutely smashed it, kicking with a few classic detroit bangers "Down in the Dumps" and just class rare soul like Virginia Blakely "let nobody love you" sounded the business, loud and proud!! Lord Ashton Chris Churm did his customary last hour, well half hour last night!! We are just collating the figures from the ticket sales for our May Special Event, when we welcome Numero Uno Rare Soul DJ bUTCH You know it's gonna be good, we'll advise on here and soul-source any availability for tickets!! Peace Ashton April Video.mp4
