Just over a week to our Saturday March 15th date at Ashton Ukrainian Club !! Huge Buzz on the event already on here and Soul-Source, as promised we have another Quality DJ line up, as our way of a thank you to The Ashton Faithful !! Roger Banks as a former Tameside resident just up the road from the Club, knows a lot of the crowd from venues like The Concorde Suite Niters at Droylsden also Hyde Town Hall Niters and the much missed Hyde Botanical Club. Roger always entertains the crowd, with a wealth of experience behind the decks!! Chris Penn has been in touch and is well up for the night, with some new acquisitions to the playbox ready to go!! Looking forward to Local Collector/DJ Geoff Stubbs check out the link at the bottom of the post for some sample selections for you to check out. "The Vinylfellas" AKA Simon Ingham and Chris Churm will be playing some menacing Soul 45s to make you wanna dance, Capiche!!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £6 admission pay on the door In the words of the song "give me the sunshine" see you there!!

Another Great night at Culcheth, Baz M played a great opening hour of lesser played gems and the flip to The Dream Merchants, sounded a bit good, to these ears!! Great to see Bob Hinsley rolling back the years, double decking with Robbo, some tremendous stuff played. I enjoyed my impromptu set preceding them and managed to play Mike Roche his request , Cookie Scott "mislead" maybe set to have it's day in the sun?! Simon"The Fixer" Ingham played the usual high quality hour, we've come to expect Bo Fowler "upper hand" Keith + Billie "tastes sour, don't it" Hayes Cotton and finishing with the Mighty Chuck Cockerham and Little Rubin!! We caught the first half of Kev Murphy's last hour set Little Joe Roman and Frankie Beverley "because of my heart" a great way to kick start the set!! Spent a bit of time in a very busy Modern Room and That man Soul Sam had the crowd in the palm of his hand, pure quality!! If you haven't yet tried the event, you really are missing out, hats off to Baz Maleady for continuing to promote quality events in the North West, long may it continue!! My Contributions 9pm-10pm The O'Jays "hold on" Lee Williams "it's everything about you" J.J Barnes "baby please come back home" Rose St John "I know the meaning" The Holidays "I lost you" Herbert Hunter "push away from the table" Sam Dees "lonely for you baby" The Temptations "forever in my heart" The Ringleaders "baby what has happened" Brice Coefield "ain't that right" The Harrison Brothers "run for your life" The Friendly People "I ain't got nothing but the blues" Ivy Jo "I can feel the pain" The Constellations "I didn't know how to" The Paramount Four "you don't know" Delegates of Soul "I'll come running back" James Bynum "time passes by" Rhonda Davis "can you remember" Celeste Hardie "you're gone" Cookie Scott "mislead" Jackie Wilson "just be sincere" Andrea Henry "I need you like a baby" The Invitations "watch out little girl" Kenny Shepard "what difference does it make"

"Spring has Sprung", as we're only two weeks away from our Saturday March 15th date at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Amazing response yet again, please check back regularly, to see what we're all about on our Soul-Source event page thread!! Some quality musical additions constantly being added from our guest DJs. The ever popular Roger Banks joins us once again behind the decks, as we've come to expect, a whole myriad of Styles and tempos await The Ashton Brethren!! Chris Penn is making his Bi-Annual trip down the A1 to the North West, again mixing up the styles and constantly refreshing his playbox!! Some awesome selections via the link from Local Dark Horse Collector/DJ Geoff Stubbs, so check back regularly and feel free to RSVP the event!! Phil Dunn will be primed and ready from the off, for all our early birds, eager to grab either a table in the main room, or a sales pitch in our bar/lounge area!! That just leaves "The Fixer" and "The Finisher", as Bob H commented sounds like two Characters from a Martin Scorsese film Chris Churm and Simon Ingham AKA "The Vinylfellas" quality all the way. Please note no vinyl 45s were injured in the making of this production!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £6 admission pay on the door
