  1. This is now on the Q&A section Q: There should be a pressing plant number in the run out of the vinyl, what is the number please? A: Hi, the number is 100272 regards, Claire So according to Manships Guide that makes it a BOOT!
  2. Is this for real or a boot? https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Flirtations-STRONGER-THAN-HER-LOVE-F705-Festival-7-Northern-Soul-Single-/182372300845?hash=item2a763c782d:g:cl8AAOSw4GVYPzNg Looking at the rest of the stuff that they have listed and the unlikely tale that the records are " Part of a big northern soul collection we found when we moved into our new house" it all looks very dubious to me.

  4. Never ever in all my life have read so much bollocks. If you were around at the time and a lover of soul music and a regular seasoned allnighter goer this was the singularly most embarrassing thing that could ever have happened! That is if you were really lucky and missed Wigan's Chosen Few poncing around to Skiing in the snow It still gives me a cold chill when I remember that awful fucking night that those complete twats appeared on TOTP while my mum, dad, three sisters and a couple of their friends all pissed themselves and then asked me if I could get up and do that daft dancing for them. And made even worse by the fact that the picture sleeve clearly shows front centre stage the c@nt that ripped me off for tickets to the first anniversary!! He still lives locally I am told, now where did I leave my baseball bat?
  5. Hi Please can you let me know if you still have this? thanks Paul
  6. The first time I ever heard this was at YATE! and as I stopped going to all nighters in 1979 I would guess that it was late 77 or early 79. Might be worth asking Dave Greet if anyone has his email address.
  7. I bid £25,000 on that Timi and the twat blocked me
  8. Yes it was a hoax of sorts. The record that was for sale was a fake and the seller had been told by loads of people but ignored them. So I placed a £25,000 bid and then asked Pete Smith to send out a warning on his circulation list and loads of people chipped in mental bids until the seller blocked me but then someone else placed a bid of £30k. The seller will not get paid but I hope he gets a huge bill from ebay and maybe it will teach him a lesson!
  9. I forgot to add Thans to Pete Smith for circulating this to his mailing list and getting the bids rolling in, Sadlley the twat blocked my after I bid £30,000
  10. The seller is a complete twat and con merchant, he knows that the record is a fake and he has taken a name which is very close to that of a very reputable dealer. All designed to con someone out of a significant amount of money. The bids are just a wind up and show that the Northern Soul fraternity have a sense of humour. As for reporting everyone who tries this on Ebay, yes we bloody well should! I report at least a dozen every week. We want young people on our scene and we do not want them to feel that it is full of crooks.
  11. Thank you to whoever it was that bid me up to £1420.00 I have increased my max bid to £2500 and will continue to increase it everytime someone gets close. So please do not hesitate to bid we could make this the biggest NON SALE ever! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252364194021?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  12. I changed my mind have have submitted a bid for £1500. I promise that if anyone outbids me I will top it. Come on lets really wind these bastards up!
  13. There is a simple solution to this. Bid it up to an outrageous amount and then not pay the twat. I am prepared to take a non payment strike just to get theses tossers off Ebay. I am going to set my sniper to drop a £5000.00 bid on it an hour before it ends, anyone want to top it for a laugh? I have done it before and it seems to work
  14. At current exchange rates that make it around £725.00, for that you can have my copy. It is just about the best you will ever see. Most would say MINT but because I have played it a few times I will call in M- If you are interested drop me a line and I will send you some pictures
  15. Hi I have an issue, ex+ condition £95 inc postage. Please let me know Paul
  16. I was going to reply to this but to honest I can't be bothered
  17. Personally I hate digitised music, I do listen to Youtube when I am at my office after hours (like now) and I do have loads of music on my phone that I play in my car but when I get home at night I spin vinyl because it is the ONLY way to listen to good music.
  18. Did I do something wrong? I was just looking for information of some of the records in my collection and this thread popped up so I left a comment and some pics. Personally I think that anything that has Len Jewel's name on it is worth talking about, Just a shame that my copy of Bettin' On Love is on Fontana, it's a really nice copy though!
  19. These copies are produced for one purpose only and that is to rip off genuine collectors. Whoever is getting them pressed is a scum bag should be strung up! Can someone please post a list of these records so that I can remove them from my wants list
  20. Never heard of this guy before, he is really good. Does anyone know if he has any made any records?
  21. Stewart I have an issue for sale, M- if of interest let me know and I will send you some pictures
  22. I have a M- copy with no red stamp on it. I am not sure why most have the red D.J. RECORDS FROM MALYNN - GUY WARD stamp on them but happy to say that mine is clean
  23. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILKY-HARGRAVES-northern-soul-45-Keep-Loving-Me-Dearborn-VG-Youre-Too-Good-/391353569623?nma=true&si=%252BY9%252BnOgxKOdLwPX9M2ypS0E27AY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Does that mean that my M- white demo is worth a grand or more????
  24. Hi If your most expensive record is worth no more than £50 then go ahead but if you have rare valauable records please think again before you play them. I don't know if the turntable is new or second hand but either way before you use it please check the tracking force and alignment. It's a bit of a fiddle but will save you from trashing your records particularly if the tracking force is too high or even too low. In the old days we all put coins on the tonearm to stop the needle from jumping, I did it and those records are now unplayable, completely trashed. I stated a thread on hear a while back about "looks good plays crap" where I was moaning about some records that I bought that looked really great but sounded terrible because they had been trashed on cheap poorly set up turntables. I got loads of great comments and a few who accused me of owning a hifi shop which I do not. Take a look on youtube there are loads of simple tutorials on how to set up a turntable or take it to you local hifi shop and ask them for some help and advice. Most of the blokes in these shops have loads of knowledge and will help you because they want yo to come back and buy something
