sorry to agentsmith but,up and coming dj's will never ever get a chance,because promoters only use dj's who have a venue themselves in order to get a spot at their venue,and round and round it goes,if it does differ its probably a close friend,the evidence for this can be found in the events column. some of the up and coming dj's are very good and have the sounds.If I could open one for the inexperienced I would,but on the other hand I agree that there are too many on at the moment. This is just an observation not a criticism.

Yes I miss Edwin Starr too,when I used to work as a follow spot operator,in a local caberet club(gone now) Edwin used to appear do his turn,which was always faultless,I used to go to his dressing room,and talk with him,he was really easy to talk to,especially about Northern soul,He used tell about when he appeared at the Torch and Wigan Casino,and always gave me promotional photo's to give out,he even signed one and dedicated it to me personally,but back to the question,yes we did take him for granted ATB Gigs

It's a very nice thought,to think the casino club had it survived,I think lots of people would still have enjoyed going for the cameraderie,but to enjoy it to the extent what you used to,would'nt you still have to be the same age as what you were then ? oh you know what I mean,just having trouble explaining it.

Yeah this is a fantastic record,that you never hear played out nowadays. The last I heard this was in the late eighties at Brighouse Civic Centre all nighter run by Steve Croft I think,but It was the mighty Bub who played it, loved that much,it took me ages to find out the Artist & title,the last time I saw it for sale was on Mr Brown's list as well KTF Gigs

Could anyone give any information on padded cell -mr misery,thing is I have seen it also by Robbie Lawson which came first? and also a current price please. I have searched through SS but can't find a previous post,but sure there was one on this subject. I have this by padded cell on Toddlin Town,but it's put doubt in my mind,as to the real one. My recollection of mike,was when he came on stage,and stopped the whole proceedings,and announced that there was two people going round impersonating squad,(by taking gear off people)the lights came on,and these two were spotted and thrown out. Now I was half asleep at the time up on the top balconey catching a few zee's,so this is very sketchy in my head,it was only when I asked a girl what was happening,she told me this,so if anyone knows the whole story I would be very interested,but the point is Mike sorted all out with the minimum of fuss.or have I dreamt it

Hi Webby,I remember the KGB with fond memories,the amazing guys who could shuffle\stomp to such as Delegates of soul-I'll come running back,and Ithink it was ketty lesters-show me was on (fast version) anyway if you stood at the bottom end and looked towards the dj's in the nearly everbody was down on the floor doing the splits or something,then they would all get back up at the same time,used to make me laugh,also guys building human pyramids on the dance floor-thought Terry was a nice guy too.but have to agree the sound was Jettsons&Tangeers Dance of love. BRILLIANT wish we could turn back the clock KTF Gigs
