  1. Yeah, Pete did tell me about it a while back, but I didn't twig it was this weekend
  2. Baz, Thanks for the info mate Might bump into you this weekend...St Ives, Leicester? cheers, Dave
  3. Could someone please pm me a mobile number or email addy for Glenn please? (Baz? Glyn? Your sort of area?) Cheers, Dave
  4. The Reverand played it on Friday.....and at the right speed from the start
  5. If we are going to include a Jr Walker.....please let it be "Good Rocking"
  6. Spooky! Just playing on here as I read that!!!!!!! If you find a re-issue, get one for me? (It's Frankie "Loverman" Crocker BTW)
  7. Eh up Sam Always had a soft spot for The Brothers Took it to a soul night the other week where there were quite a few "youngsters" lurking near the dance floor and that was the one that got em onto it Dave
  8. Col, Someone I know recently sold a boot for more than £25 and is now playing the Artistics version Dave
  9. Mike, is that Pussycats- I want your love that you referred to? What a record that is .....didn't realise it was one that Keb broke! Going back to the Ree Flores, I reckon it's earlier than it's often given credit for. Dave
  10. He was indeed mate Just had a quick natter, (about an hour and a half ), with Mr Hayden, and he reckons it was first spun at the Mecca, as you said Sounds as if he's going to the next Samanthas despite "having no records".....until you start talking titles.....then it turns out "that's somewhere in the cupboard" Dave
  11. I was gonna say Cleggy, Steve? As for the date it was made, if JT doesn't notice this question I'll give him a nudge later Incidentally Mark, Mr Trouble was good enough to indulge myself and Rev Cato by allowing said tune to be played again during the final, rather lively, half hour on Friday when we'd convinced ourselves we could go the pace
  12. One of the best played at any time IMHO (though it was played before Stafford) How about: Bee Bee Stans, Front Page Love? Dave
  13. The only respect he deserves, Jamie, is for surviving the meteor impact 65 million years ago that killed off the rest of em
  14. You are way off mark with your latest sweeping statement! I know several scene regulars who are below the age of 35. Theres nothing amiss with their respect and from the tripe you write I'd say their knowledge probably exceeds your own. They just tend to have an appetite for hearing new sounds, and in that they are not alone! Dave
  15. Good post...considering BTW you wouldn't fob me off with "ain't got it with me"....I'd have a look in the box Dave
  16. Doesn't really bear thinking about, does it?
  17. Yes but surely you hit the nail on the head when you said the modern tunes are that much longer On the Northern front, we are getting some new DJing talent coming through thanks to the odd 45min-hour spot given by the likes of Soultown Andy Dave
  18. Thank you so much
  19. Ah! Just getting caught up here. Well said mate. I agree with all of it and strangely I'm way past the age group that dinosaur referred to
  20. Had to check the date then...wondered if today was the first! If a DJ's sole object is to please the floor, and he can't do it before his hour is almost up, he'd be better off staying at home! Couldn't really follow what you were on about after that bit
  21. Who's that then, just so as I know who to avoid?
