  1. I'm fairly indifferent about this, only seen the trailer, in which it states a date of 1974. Yet the discography includes "So is the Sun", which I thought was released in 1976. I'm probably wrong.
  2. "What a fantastic bit of Detroit Northern" Quite so!
  3. Turn the caps lock off and try to speak some sense.
  4. I don't visit this site too often now because of the high level of moderation. Thus I have only just seen this post due to the recent resurrection of the thread. I have to say, belatedly Jock, this is one of the best posts on the site, and certainly one of your most humorous! Get out of the cellar and entertain us some more!
  5. Mildly interesting subject, but marred by the inability of many posters to differentiate between the words "venue" and "event".
  6. and 20 times uglier, no doubt? That can't really be it, surely.
  7. Damn, I was taken in by this thread! I thought "modern" meant modern, quality, current! But no .. it means shabby 70's/80's/90's disco/party/LCD music like The Futures, Jeff Perry and Alfie feckin Davison! This is the stuff that has reduced our scene to a stag night piss-up. Mind you, I do like King Tutt! (if you are gonna call with threats, do it soon as I'm out in half an hour) x
  8. Post of the year! .. and I don't really like Pete
  9. A well imformed post. Especially gratifying for one so relatively young. Note the word "relatively".. it's meant as a term of respect. Anybody else enjoy "Looking For Eric"?
  10. Be fair old friend... he's a bit fecking thick
  11. Quite an entertaining thread, this... You seem to enjoy making unnecessarily long posts: Is this the written equivalent of "enjoying the sound of your own voice"? Having just read through this thread for the first time, I have to say you come across as the SS version of Pvt. Walker from "Dad's Army".. ie a bit of a spiv!
  12. Best of both worlds then, eh?
  13. You should adjust your skirt. Your prejudices are showing.
  14. Slightly suppressive post for a moderator, no?
  15. Are you feeling ok Pete?
  16. When I read the original post I was a bit mentally dismissive of it, but your offering tends to make me think it may have some merit. Why post what you did unless it was meant as a spoiler borne of sour grapes? As for this bit: "It seems that some people can dish out criticism, but can't take it...." That strikes me as a bit rich considering your reaction to opinions on last year's Lifeline weekender.
  17. What a bizarre thread this is! Barry risks being thrown out for more sensible posts, and he doesn't even use strange fonts and weird colours!
  18. The last truly great all-dayer was held about three years ago in Sleaford, Lincs Col. It was arranged through this site in aid of the "Gambian Soul Club" Quality music from the late 50's to present day. No celebrity DJ's, but nevertheless well attended and a few quid raised for a good cause, and that was before the charity business became popular.
  19. I don't pertain to be, Pete. And you didn't answer my post.
  20. I thought you didn't venture out much? i'm surprised you bought tickets for this event?
  21. "A great..". Typo. Obvious really. Wind away "mate". It's a good passtime.
  22. "Superiority complex"? You have agreat sense of irony!
  23. Not at home then?
  24. I put into google: "thread for pretentious idiots", and it brought me here
  25. I don't blame him
