  2. This is the problem with this scene evrybody wants to know or thinks they know every one else's buisness, the top dj in question is stand up and honourable in my experience ! it should be kept private untill you both have spoken in private me thinks there will be a more than satisfactory reason or explanation to this matter whoever he may be !

  4. the guy selling the sable 45 is 100% i've been dealing with him for years ,he has one of if not the best collections of philly 45's in the world and has brought us countless unissued philly gems over the years .he had records like this when i was still at infant school !!!
  5. looking forward to both events , well worth the effort.....
  6. This 45 took me longer to get than most other 45's i've ever chased - some 15 years ! mind you this was before the days of ebay and guides and mothers little helpers this has always been a very rare record and strangely enough the limmy armstrong gareth mentions took nearly has long to find ! gareth quite rightly points out the reason for repress or boot quite simply a jamaican or big city soul fans must have mmmm ah proof of rarity they can't find originals to buy, infact henry stone used my copy for his c/d project - don't think he'd ever seen a copy let alone owned one. the ending some what similar to the shrine recordings productions -truly awesome record !
  7. Got this on another label, seldom comes along on either logo - recieved a few spins many moons ago....
  8. had it a few years i think i played it mr chalks when i got it, only ever played it at lifeline a couple of times - right up your street me luv...
  9. Got a spare mac staten coming soon ,not sure what i'll be doing with it - probably need some heavyweight trade for it. Anyone heard one of the other 45's on the logo by the Mcgee's ? pretty much as good as the " staten " 45 probably as rare too...
  10. Andy thanks for that and your support all those years ago - it was always appreciated ,in those days people would travel to the ends of the earth for the right music ,we even had dave godin on dj'ing ! joseph websters down to deep ballads were played , many things that probably haven't been played since ! send my best to jim one of the unsung heroes of soul music - see ya soon andy.
  11. so how many copies have you had of it mr boot ? it's that rare it came out on a american re release under a different name cos it was thought to be unissued nobody had ever had it over states side , anyway 6 people wanted to buy it !!
  12. ah but ted she's black you're not gonna like it !!!! the flip bloody good too if not better.... hope you're well ted...
  13. when i first played the " don't " track some 20 years ago it was of a 7" dub for 2 reasons firstly the sound quality and 2 i don't play albums ,i still got the turbo lp and some p vines and the dub i got cut at the time, covered it up as darrell banks at the time dearlove, browny jan barker, goucher none of the premier knowledges on soul music had a clue what it was , infact i put them out of their misery on the night if me memory serves me right - have played it on and off ever since. still sounds as fresh and truly premier division to this day in my unproffesional opinion....
  14. About a few months before george played the said track at blackpool i got 2 c/d's full of these tracks all strangely enough big oldies including female version of " not a chance in amillion " etc.. mmmm where the original artist was male these were female and vice verca... very cleverly done on a p.c within the last few years i'd say - but jesus christ they're a absolute crock of shite ! times are real bad if d/j's are playing this kind of stuff .....

  16. It's a bit nuts putting events on within a few miles of each other when long term nights are already planned, let's just hope the effects are not too negative on all the happening ! some kind of system has to be set up in the future before it all goes pear shaped !!
  17. Yep, paypal no problem.

naw it's the paper off one of mick h's pop cover ups !!
  20. I must admit i've only ever had this copy , although copies must be kicking around ! it is of course a later release but a reissue surely not it has the different flip as mentioned , i'll have to play the can't make it - side and compare it with the earlier number if me memory serves me right the mix is different !!
  21. I HAVE TO AGREE WITH ROD WITH REGARDS THE SATIN BEING A VERY GOOD DISCOVERY AND HIS EXPLANATION OF THE FACTS AND MORAL ETHICS IN CONNECTION WITH THE 45.I HAD A SMALL HANDFULL OF COPIES THAT WERE BOUGHT BY TOP SEASONED COLLECTORS AND DJ'S - LEAVING ME WITH A COUPLE OF COPIES WHICH I'LL HOLD ONTO, I MAILED MY PAL IN THE STATES OFFERING HIM HUNDREDS OF $'S FOR MORE COPIES WHICH HE COULDN'T SUPPLY COS BY THE LOOKS OF THINGS THE MAIN LOT WAS BOUGHT BY OUR U.S FRIENDS.I'LL ASK MY PAL IF HE KNOWS WHERE THE 45 WAS PRESSED IF HE KNOWS I'LL PASS ON THE INFO. AIN'T IT PATHETIC WHEN ONE DEALER HAS TO TRY AND MAKE ANOTHER LOOK DISHONEST ? I GUESS YOU PAYS YER MONEY AND TAKES YER CHANCE....
  22. Tell you something that boy brown can move especially when we're totting up a deal and it nearly always ends up his way,my remedy is a simple pick up a nice £1000 tune and bend it over me head ! f*** me not only does he dance he sings and screams - the deal always goes my way...
  23. i got a couple of dspares of the " joe brown" - vibration- drop me a line if you still need it...
