Blue-eyed Soul?
I stand corrected. I was led to believe they were white.

Blue-eyed Soul?
No I'm not confused. They are a white band. I've just googled them to be sure.

Divs are more abundant than ever......
I go to a local soul night. The organisers play from a lap top but always have a couple of good local DJs playing original vinyl. It's not a bad night until about 11 o'clock and one of the organisers plays Frank Wilson, at which point all the Div's rush to the dance floor beer in hand, by this time they have had a few, and start throwing themselves around the floor, totally oblivious of anyone else and spilling beer all over the place. Needless to say this is the at which I leave. I would estimate that at least half the people attending could be categorised as Div's.

Chuck Berry ... Rest in Peace.
He was a true great and so influential, but where would he have been without Marty McFly?

Brian Matthew
I also agree. I've just listened to about 10 minutes of it and I've had to turn it off, Tony Blackburn was about as irritating as Dermot O'Leary was at 8 o'clock. I probably won't bother again.

I'm glad I bought mine when a few turned up about 20 years ago. Cost me £80, it seemed like a lot of money back then.

7’s on a Juke Box
This is going off on a tangent a bit. I have a fairly extensive collection of U.K. soul singles most of which have intact centres the exception to this is the Sue label. A larger than average proportion of which have had the centres removed. I have often wondered why and alway's assumed it was because they came out of a juke box, but this would suggest that some very obscure records were in pub's and coffee bar's. Any other suggestion's?

Not a juke box, but on recent cruise I was flicking through the selection of tunes on the cabins entertainment system and found Charles Sheffield - Voodoo working

What's your Best Buy of 2016
We were doing our usual charity shop tour and having had enough of going through rubbish I was all for missing out the last one in town. But the wife said we may as well check it out, reluctantly I agreed and as we walked in I spotted a pile of 45's, as I started going through them I came across some Ray Merrell stuff ( his pop/country things). I didn't expect anything but the last record I found was Tears of Joy. I didn't have any cash on me and had to borrow the £1.00 needed to buy it.

Would you buy more records if international shipping was free?
Yes. I don't always buy high value record's so it's off putting when the cost of shipping is more than the cost of the record.

So how many dj on here with bootlegs and re-issue vinyl?
I'm a bit baffled as to the point of Majy's post. I think a bit of clarification is needed.

fave live band/singer from back in the day
She came on stage and sang Street Life one time I saw them as well. The same thing happened, she stole the show!

fave live band/singer from back in the day
I have just remembered the best of them all (how could I have forgotten?). Bobby Womack, I think it was at the Apollo in Oxford. Also saw Diana Ross in 1975/6 at the Victoria Theatre in London.

We also used to go to Dunstable Civic Centre. I saw Fat Larry's Band and Olympic Runner's there. The other venue in Dunstable was Tiffany's. I would imagine you're thinking of the pub called the Windsock which was odly enough shaped like a windsock.

Artists that sound like other artists
Ray Merrell sound's like Ken Dodd and I alway's thought that on some of Bobby Womack's earlier stuff he sounded like Wilson Pickett. In fact I think I read somewhere that Atlantic held his recording career back because of this.

Helen Shapiro - Stop and you will become aware
Just for the sake of interest, in the area I live we have singer by the name of Adam Okin who's uncle, Earl Okin, is the writer of this song.
