Genius! That's how to save the Northern Soul scene! A new movie very 2 or 3 years. Pack the clubs full of training youngsters so the old guard can pretend it's 1976 all over again!
Good Afternoon to All
How can you tell an original from a pressing?
Feel free to discuss the relative merits of this recording and its derivatives whilst answering the question in hand please ladies and gentlemen.......
Was DJing at a do in the early 80s and one of the Mod crowd kept coming up and DEMANDING 'Fire' by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown despite my explaining that this was a Northern Soul do. In the end I put Vala Regan on the deck and announced "I am the God of hellfire and I bring you..................FIREMAN!"
Too many to mention and most probably have already. One which springs to mind and I don't know if it has been posted yet - Don Covay - It's Better To Have.
I can't stand it. I might be better disposed to it playing in the background at someone's house or in a bar, but whenever I've heard it out in the past, it sets my flipping teeth on edge.
Please could someone tell me how you tell an original from a pressing. Thanks folks.
By the way, do feel free to voice your opinions of this record - 'always hated it', 'great sound back in the day', 'perfect for today' and so on..................
