  1. It's Elvis Presley. He owns it. He lives in Hull and he owns the Frank Wilson that Kenny sold. He plays it when he DJs at house parties he throws for Marilyn, Michael Jackson, JFK etc etc. Of course, the parties are OVO, so Colin Curtis isn't invited.
  2. Mike I'm 6 years behind you mate and, having started again a year ago, I'm into building my 4th collection or so and my mind is buzzing around the same potential dilemma. Particularly because this collection is something I would like to build on more than previously rather than selling up when personal circumstances dictated. But, hey, as you say it is only a hobby.............or is it????
  3. Hi All Looking for one of these. PM please. M
  4. DOH!
  5. Is this the same chappie as King Ernest (without the 'a') on Barry?
  6. Spot on Andy! Started collecting again a year ago - sold up last time around in 2004/05 with a decent number of 'pricey' items in there - did they 'pay me back'? No way. This time, forget chasing the stuff everyone else is after and paying top whack when the tunes are big. I don't go to many events at all, but I'm getting a real kick out of picking up stuff that's not expensive and totally new to my ears.

  14. I don't think anybody has mentioned Kiki Dee? Magic Carpet Ride always reminds me of my first times. ................and I had no idea Idle Few were white either. Another of my faves.
  15. THE BARONS - Kid Stuff - SHAGG -VG- £20 HOLD The other side's pretty good too.
  16. £25 sounds pretty good to me, but if you bring that copy along to Ghetto Soul Tim, I'm sure I could do better than that!
  17. Anybody got one they would be willing to let go to a good home? Thanks.
  18. Thank you Dr Christian Barnard!!
  19. Sorry! Just seen it's been sold.....DOH!
  20. Des Parker (alias 'Soul Inc') was selling one on this site earlier today.
  21. I had a few Soul Bowl packs and looking back, yes, there were some crackers in there. A couple which immedieately spring to my mind as having eventually got some recognition and sell for a few beans these days: Jesse Fisher - You're Not Loving A Beginner (Way Out) Shelley Fisher - Girl I Love You (Dayla) I'm sure there will have been more.
  22. Mixed bag of sales all in decent enough shape (i.e. Ex condition with no more than light surface marks unless stated). Paypal preferred (as a gift please - buyer carries fees). Happy to do deals on multiple purchases (said more in hope than expectation). Soundclips are NOT the actual records - anybody unhappy with a purchase once received can return it to me for refund. Standard 1st class postage costs within the UK absorbed in the prices quoted but if you are outside the UK or want recorded etc, that will have to be extra. Ways, here we go folks: #1. Vala-quons - "Window Shopping On Girls Avenue" (Tangerine WD) - £35 (brilliantly cool, Big City, male harmony dancer - some surface marks and a bit of label ringwear but overall very tidy condition) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrlXEaX3W-A #2. Blood Hollins - "Don't Give It Up" (Strange Fruit) - £15 (storming 70s dancer - books at a good deal more) #3. Bob Smith & The Boo-Kou's - "What Do It Mean" (Boo-Kou) - £20 (funky sound - lot of interest in this when I have posted it before but no-one has ever actually ended up paying for it....DOH!! Has rather more in the way of surface marks but nothing that affects play) #4. The Measures - "Girls Are Evil" (Despenza) - £20 (From what I can gather, not that well known - nice male group dancer) https://www.rarenorthernsoul.com/60s-Northern-USA-UK/18832/girls-are-evil/#product #5. Bobby Brooks - "Wise Like Solomon" (Hit) - £20 (big popcorn tune apparently) #6. Viola Wills - "I Got Love" (UK President) - £15 (storming classic - my copy is better looking than the soundclip - no writing or stickers) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av1OeDtOG8U #7. Little Sherman & The Mod Swingers - "The Price Of Love" (ABC) - £20 (brilliant record - nice copy for sale in really good nick) #8. The Shirelles - "Look Away" (Scepter) - £20 (nice, moody mid-tempo - company sleeve too, like the soundclip, and really good nick) #9. Janie Welsh - "I Can't Stop Thinking 'Bout You" (GDC) - £10 (lovely mid-tempo floater) #10. Vi Campbell - "Seven Doors" (Peacock) - £20 (R&B classic - bargain price) https://soundcloud.com/interliner/vi-campbell-seven-doors #14. Earl Lewis & The Channels - "She Blew My Mind" (Rare Bird) - £15 (superb funky dancer) https://www.spinthegroove.com/2010/08/earl-lewis-channels-she-blew-my-mind.html #15. Jerry Washington - "Set Your Soul On Fire / Let Me Get Close To You" - £20 (both sides getting attention) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMbh4Oqualw #18. The Values - "Return To Me" (Invicta) - £25 (really nice mid-tempo atmospheric beat ballad apparently getting attention - £100 on Pat Brady's site - record is probably a conservative VG+ based on Soul-Source guidelines and plays absolutely fine with a few small pops in its quieter moments, nothing bad at all - label is nice & tidy) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLaYqkgTghs Thanks for looking. All the best for 2012.
