    MG BLUES PRE CHRISTMAS ALLDAYER

    We are in our 8th year and have decided to call it a day due to other commitments. So this and our final one (the 8th anniversary in February) will be your last chance to check us out. There will be 11 DJs over 11 hours. The main evening DJs will be the two Residents - Myself John Kelly and Mike Warburton(ORIGINAL HIDEAWAY DJ). Main Guests- Representing England,Ireland and Wales From Ireland BILL KEALY ( FOR DANCERS ONLY- DUBLIN and just about every other R&B do in the UK and all over Europe). Lee Davies - THE WELSH MOD. He too has Deejayed at many Ska, Northern and R&B dos all over the UK etc. Last but not least is one of our Regulars -Geoff Swallow. Geoff has been with us from the beginning and even supplies the equipment. We couldn’t run this do without Geoff. He too has guested and been resident at many venues around the UK All these three are great DJs with great collections. Afternoon DJS will be David Callister (CALLY) from The Jacaranda Liverpool and many others Mike Hawkins - In The Basement - Eccles etc etc Neil Dewey - Neil has Deejayed at Federal, Pow Wow and many more clubs around the UK Graham Wright - Sheffield. Resident at Sinners and Saints and King Bee, Also The Jacaranda etc etc etc etc Geoff Swallow - Geoff always does the first spot after setting up the sound system. He normally plays a few obscure rare sounds in this spot. Entrance fee is £5. You will receive a wrist band that will allow you to come and go throughout the day if needed. There is a great food and beer collection at this venue.

    Here we go-MG Blues presents a night of modernist R&B, 6T's Soul and Hammond Jazz grooves, Jump Blues. Another great night planned. Top DJ Lineup. We have as our main guests Steve Stack' Jepson and Martin Kent from The Blue Dot R&B Club in Bournemouth. They were originally down for The 4th Anniversary in 2021 but that was cancelled due to Covid19. Also after too long a wait all the way from sunny Birmingham we have, to complement them , Jodie Lamb. Our first female evening DJ since the 2019 anniversary and not before time. Jodie has previously guested in the afternoon for us and along with the crazy gang is a regular attendee who hardly ever misses. Fun to be had by all.

    A day of Rhythm and Blues, Mod, Ska, Latin, Popcorn and Northern Soul sounds. All played on original vinyl by 11 different DJs inc Residents Mike Warburton and John Kelly. Confirmed guests for the evening alongside the residents will be, from Ireland Bill Kealy plus Neil Youdale. Third evening guest and daytime deejays to be announced later.

    I don't know who the lady is that claimed to have lost the record but if you haven't seen a record for 4 or 5 months and you've looked everywhere you're bound to think it's been stolen. It sounds like it was found in a car that had been sold. I wouldn't have thought she'd have expected it to be there. So I think you're all being a bit harsh. Ps I had a copy of Nat Hall..Why 'stolen' back in 2001. When I say stolen what I mean is that I haven't seen it since then. Anybody who knows me well will know that I am a bit absent minded but will also know that my collection is filed on purpose built shelves in alphabetical order of artists and it deffo isn't on any of those shelves. I know exactly where I last played it but won't say so in case the guys who deejayed with me think I'm accusing them. Who knows it might turn up one day for sale on the net but I doubt it. It was a dished copy but played perfectly and I'd purchased it from Butch a few years earlier(he'd found a better copy). So if it turns up it will stand out like a sore thumb.

Mr Fine Wine Deejayed here last year. OR Kingston Mines at 2548 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL "Ž (773) 477-4646 "Ž · kingstonmines.com. I saw Jimmy Burns at this venue about 8 years ago. Great 2 room venue. 10 mins walk from Fullerton on the Red and Brown lines. This is also 10 mins walk from North Clark St where there are a few record stores and loads of restaurants /bars etc. And half an hour walk(or 10 mins on bus) from Wrigley Field. There must be 100 bars/restaurants on that half hour walk.

    Puddentane-Lula Reed. I recently sold a VG copy to somebody in Scotland. He left me positive feedback but has now said it is a bootleg from the 70s/80s.One reason he says this is that it is flexible and to quote him 'For a start It's thin flexible vinyl which didn't exist in the early 60s'. Secondly the word HIGH is in a slightly different place. Does anybody know if this could be true. ie -was there any flexible vinyl on federal in the early 60s. Like

    I am looking at selling the following record out of my collection but can't find a current price on it. Vinyl is in excellent condition. Tony Mckay-Nobody's Perfect-UK Polydor Promo BM56513. Vinyl is in excellent condition. Label has date-4/2/66 written on plugside in the left 'leg' of the Red A. I am in no big hurry to sell it but if I get a decent offer before I go to the states on the 25th April I will accept. Meanwhile if anybody can help me with the price I would appreciate it.
