Please welcome; MR FINE WINE Mr. Fine Wine grew up in Detroit in the 1960s and ’70s, surrounded by music and by music-industry royalty. His uncle owned a local jazz and soul record label and he's been an avid collector of soul 45s for the past 30 years. Fine Wine took up DJ’ing in the late ’80s & his radio show has dominated the soulful airwaves since 1994. First up, we head to 2 stoic cities that provided us with a slew of essential music, some of which you might have heard hour. It's a 120 minute showcase of an hour each featuring; HLF versus ROSEMONT HLF was owned & operated by HAYES FARMER out of Chicago Illinois, during the 70's & 80's, whilst ROSEMONT was owned by AL TAYLOR & existed from the 60's to the 90's. Whilst it's clear that Rosemont was the more prolific of the two in terms of releases, I think it's fair to say that the approach & general aesthetic of both labels, are pretty much hand-in-hand.
