  1. Thanks everyone for your patience with getting the archive up and running....had some technical difficulties for this show, so apologies for the over cranked mic volume....hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment too much. Here's the 53rd installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com. https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-53/ This month, we start proceedings with a killer funk track that straddles the gospel boundaries, by the magnificent Mike James Kirkland. Then we bounce around from massive rarities like the Jackson Brothers acetate, before visiting the ever reliable Designer label. Then we round off the set with some offerings from the 70's. The 2nd section features another cut from the amazing Sensational Saints LP as well as a killer rare 45 from the soulful Dayco label....proto hiphop rhythms from The Southern Gospel Singers. For pt. 3, it's modern soul dancefloor territory...tracks destined to be a future club sound, possibly. Check out the monster from Rance Allen as well as the amazing ender from Shirley Finney. *NB apologies for the audio quality her. Some slight technical difficulties in the studio which will be sorted for the next show* Feel free to join our facebook group! Thanks!
  2. Please PM if you can help with a VG+ copy or better.....need to file asap. Thanks a lot!
  3. The Soulful Salem Travelers is still definitely a sleeper on the Checker label. Should be a much bigger sound than it currently is ie practically non-existent....a tip for 2016 no doubt.
  4. Rev E. Fair and the Sensational Gladys Davis Trio 'Pains of life' (Feron) Vinyl grades VG+, labels are clean with the tiniest amount of storage wear. (photo available on request) Price = $75 Now $60 + postage from California Superb r&b gospelization of Aretha's 'Chain of fools'....on the same label that brought you Oscar Perry's 'Face reality' etc. There's a few light ticks during the opening bars, then plays perfectly. Loud pressing. Clip is from the copy on offer. Please PM to reserve, thanks! https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/87406486/Rev%20E%20Fair.mp3
  5. 7. Here's the 52nd installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com. https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-52/ It's great to be back in the studio live to unleash a few new cuts including a current exclusive out onto the airwaves. For the first set, we kick things off with a dynamite dancefloor funk cut from the Gospel Artistics, before presenting some killer brand new music from Eli 'Paperboy' Reed. The set rounds off nicely with a clutch of tunes primed for clubland exposure. The deep soul section features highlights from the ethereal Otis G. Johnson as well as a sublime sweet soul rarity from the Amazing Aires. Check out also the marvelously named Martha McSwine Williams. And for pt. 3 we launch into modern soul boogie territory with killers from Ronald Jerry & the Savoy stable. But it's the brand new discoveries of the Gospel Cherubims & The Gigantic Overland Travelers that steal the show. Huge records & I'm tipping them to go massive! Feel free to join our facebook group! Thanks!

  11. The heavy gospel disco sound, reaching back to early 2013 and the first mix that launched several records into Europe and beyond. Finally uploaded onto Mixcloud....get a sip, right here! https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/keep-your-head-to-the-skygospel-disco-soul-funkvolume-one/ Here's a selection of gospel disco, soul & funk that were big cuts around Europe and in particular at the NYC Downlow stage @ Glastonbury Festival back in 2013. Tunes that sound huge in the club, designed to lift you up and literally take you higher. It showcases some of the huge records that have become a staple for certain club nights, and yet remains a future sound for others. There's no tracklist included with this mix.....enjoy it, guess what the artists are, interact with it. These are tracks that need to be heard, listened to and danced to on the most acute sound systems that clubland has to offer. Music that was designed to be euphoric....if you like what you hear, then please share it around. Thanks for listening!
