  1. I remember Lord Jims in Huddersfield, after the Wheel closed post January 1971...................infamous for its prices re a glass of water.!
  2. Leah Dawson - "My Mechanical Man" ?? Also Rick were the Copies of Mikki Farrow from Global real ones, I allways thought they were.! Ritchie.
  3. Remove the patches & sell them as singular items. Job lots allways go for less.!
  4. Yeah...........i saw that episode as well, i think they bought a very rare motorcycle engine. Personally think there's a lot of "poetic licence" involved with the prices asked, and they don't tend to pay the going rate for anything.!!
  5. R.I.P. Tony your legacy will live on. My sincerest condolances to all Tonys Family & Friends. Ricardo.
  6. From 1966 I decided to become a Mod. The local 'Greaser' cafe Georges was just down the road, and there was a lot of banter aimed @ me when I passed by, the Jukebox blaring with the top twenty hits of the time. I picked up on a lot of Soul artists from pirate radio stations, & when the Kestrel & Palace opened up, i got to hear the Wheel sounds. I liked & still like British bikes but I dissliked biker jackets and drainpipe Wranglers, whice most Rockers wore, preffering a good suit with a massive vent, Levis, Lee riders, Comos.............etc. Other bands that struck a cord with me were The Ramones, The Lovin Spoonfull, & artists like Dusty Springfield & Len Barry. I was also into Rock Steady & Reggae. Regards Ricardo.
  7. Deffo played @ the Mecca as a new release. Also plenty of copies available then, but appers to have 'dissapeared, now.! Ricardo.
  8. After hearing the sound bite, I agree that it's a good record. However if it was readily available for say £50 then I suspect all the hype regarding the record would soon decline.!
  9. Holland Dozier Holland perhaps ??....................................they get my vote.
  10. Edwin Starr backed by T.C.U. (Total concept Unlimited) @ the Blackpool Mecca Alll Dayer in 1976 ish. Best performance i ever saw him do, & the sounds played that day were totally mind blowing. I think T.C.U. then became a top band under a different name, Rose Royce perhaps.? Regards, Ricardo.
  11. Luther Ingram is the Original version, (1965) but due to no U.K. release the U.K. released Jamo Thomas was a massive 60Ts mod hit. We all said at the time that J.T. had some kind of 'fixation' with the Ploice / F.B.I. as he also recorderd "Arrest me" on his Thomas label. The Luther ingram version has been Re - Issued (small Smash text) also the 'B' side is not bad either.!! Ricardo.
