  2. Hello Flanny, This is the post I've been waiting for. This posting confirms that the record on auction is not the same one on list 903. I did try to buy that one on list 903 early on but was unsucesssfull. If you bought your copy of Tim Asibendee, its my old one. I sold it to him in Burslem record fair S. O. T. in i think 1977. Regarding our friend JM i purposly put "posssibly" the same one. There was nothing untoward intended by this. Best Regards-Ritchie Andrew.
  3. Here's two more Band of Angels-Invitation-Picadilly-(Mike D'abo on lead) Mark Loyd-When I'm gonna find her-Parlophone. Regards to all Ritchie.
  4. Dear Soulfood33.... 100's of copies of Minnie Jones.........and the band played "beleive me if you like". But thanks for the comfirmation i was after, regarding Chico Lamarr from yourself & Pottsy. Regards to All Ritchie Andrew.
  5. Chico Lamarr was also a popular record in the North Wales area in 1975 and was regularly spun, (along with the equally good B side How about you ) in North Wales soul club promotions by myself. I never regarded it then as a top rarity, and i still don't now. If its fetching £2000 now well "Thats inflation man" as our American cousins would say. Also on John Manships auction are two other popular North wales spins from 1975, Minnie Jones & The Fabulous Jades. If you go to JM's back sales list no 903 you'l find Minnie Jones listed @ £200 (excellent condition ) but upon phoning it had gone within minuites of him opening. Possibly the same record...............possibly. Back to Chico Lamarr though & the Penetrations version of how about you entitled Sweet sweet baby is equally as good, and that was issued on two labels Teri Di & Highland. Finally is Chico Lamarr really Len Jewel ? Regards to all, lRitchie Andrew.
  6. Mike, may i suggest 5 more good "B" sides : The Gentlemen 4 - it wont hurt - Wand Billy Kennedy - sweet thing - Thelma The Topics - when love comes knocking - Chadwick Tom & Ron Emmanuel - when you loose your groove - Big three Plus one more....................TBC Regards Ritchie

  9. Going down the pipe now Got a Douglas Banks in my jeans Aint no room for a Northern Soul cowboy in the students hall in Leeds (with apoligies to status quo)
  10. Hello again Heres 5 more from last night Adams john-So in love-Silver Bull After an overly long repetitive start our man comes in with a stonking mid to up tempo tune. He shares his name with an ex president of the USA. I think that finding a copy of this record would be easier than finding the curret US President (after a crisis). Patty Stokes-Good girl/Is it true-Mir-a-don Is it true seems to be gaining in popularity, and rightly so Crossover perfection. Flip the record over for more superb female (and male) vocals. A crucial double header set to rise. Donna Frisco-the same things-Showtime one of Ian Levines "Rarest of the rare" reviewed in Togtherness magazine some time ago. After a false start this obscurity, from i think Detroit moves along @ a steady pace with strings a plenty in the backing, and fantastic vocals from Donna. Perhaps good potential for some spins ? Jerry Roberts-OK Girl-Karate Bobby darin co-written & set @ just over Beat balad speed this record has everything required to break "Big", except perhaps the possibility that it may be a little on the rare side. Let me know if youve got one ! Sheila Hearn-loves gotta start happening-Chartmaker Nashville midtempo from 1970, with one of the best US label designs I've ever seen & quality pressed by R C A. A stop start mid tempo mover that builds to a tremendous climax with an excellent sax acompaniment. Possibly rare ? Regards Ritchie.
  11. Hello again, Thanks for the comments guys another 5 tomorrow. Although i was born in Maidstone Kent, i've lived in North wales long enough to qualify as a Welshman.........Ritchie
  12. Here's 5 from last night Monroe taylor- Proud guy-Chesapeake Addictive mid tempo that never lets up. Cheap as chips & superb. puts some of the so called "biggies" to the sword. Argie & the Arketts-you'r the guy- Ronnie #1 Atmospheric from the drum intro in, and with some clever lyrics. This gem never lets up, value a-plenty @ around £50 (should be double) Karen Small-to get you back again-Venus Dont let the false start fool you, with backing by Don Julien & the Larks this LA midtempo track grows & grows on you. [Carlena Weaver-Jealousy-Audel On the same label as Hank "soul man Mullen" -he upset your dreams, this dancer is another winner. Price on this is rising & its a lot rarer than some people think. Kittie doswell-just a face in the crowd-HES Los Angeles crossover magic, not dissimilar to Celeste hardies-Your gone-Reynolds. A sleeping giant, waiting to explode in progressive places like the Greatstone & 14 Lloyd st, mid tempo @ its best. Regards Ritchie.
  13. Hello Trevski, I had this in my sales box @ the last Greatstone, and I've still got it. Contact me off-site if your still interested..........Regards Ritchie.
  14. The last time I saw this was about 6 months ago @ £300 on Pat Bradys list. The "B" side - If love comes a knockin' is certainly worth a play and IMHO is almost as good as the topside. If you see a copy @ £300 buy it............ as Williams & Watson said Two for the price of one!!!!!!!!!! Regards Ritchie.

  23. just like to say............The Kittie Doswell on H E S is an AWSOME record miss it at your peril ?
  24. Regarding Margaret littles & the Moments (both previously mentioned) the successfull bidder on both items wasThermtite(9). These two items together cost............................................................................ .............................. £6151.36, thats not bad for two days spending on e-bay. Does anybody know who this person is. Perhaps Ian Levine is making another come back!
