I much prefer Dolly Gilmore to La-rom Baker both price wise & record wise. Saying that however both tunes are excellent. Also I think its a case of Crossover the final frontier for some, as there's more "grey areas" regarding defining prices with some of the rarer Crossover tunes. Regards Ritchie.

Come Go with Me. Originally recorded by the Del Vikings? then Re-hashed by Edd Cobb & re-recorded by Gloria Jones to become a "Northern Classic". Regards Ritchie. :good:

Personally I've only ever seen one copy of this record, and at that time it was owned by Alf Billingham, who got it of Dave Godin. Since there's no doubt is reputed to have the same backing track as the Total Eclipses "You took a heart". The record was to be the next release on Dave's Soul City label but never came out as the label folded. Regards Ritchie.

Yes the boxes he sells are pricey, but are also of a very high quality & are designed to be very secure. Its all down to how much you value "whats in the box". regards Ritchie

In about 1971 Colin & Pat Swallow had just re - vamped the Palace hotel disco. They then had a competition to re name it, by asking the "punters". In orbit Joy lovejoy was first taken there by Nick Lyde. He bought it from "Mad Max" @ the Catacoombs in Wolverhampton in 1970, and used to borrow it to Pat & Colin to play. Because of its popularity there somebody suggested that name for the disco. Nick lives in Scotland now, I have'nt heard from him for a few years now. Regards Ritchie.

Ritchie, do you have two usernames on this site ? Or did you just hijack another users thread ? Lars, In my haste to "post" I inadvertently taged it on to someones original posting. i was expecting it to be moved, so far it has'nt been. At 12-45 Pm today things got a lot worse (for me), as we all had 90 days notice @ work. I was aware of my folly but at this moment in time i have other "Fish to Fry" Regards Ritchie (give us a Job) Andrew.

Richie, I sold it at Shrewsbury, it's been in my box for months at £30, so as it was Christmas had a little sale, if you see another post about difference in price then this kind of backs up what I was saying. BIG IN SHREWSBURY couldn't give it away in NORTH WALES. Regards Mark Hello Mark, Just like to thank Mark & everybody else who replied to this thread. The "Is it true" side of this record is a current Greatstone play, but as Mark rightly says, its yet to reach any kind of potential in some areas. IMHO a great "Double header" thats sure to rise. Best regards Ritchie.

Can anybody out there, give an accurate value for Patty Stokes Good girl / Is it true on Mir-a-Don. I was told @ The Greatstone last Saturday that somebody picked one up for £20 in Chics Shrewsbury venue. Personally thought it was worth a 3 figure sum ? Any feedback appreciated. Regards Ritchie.

does this ever get played anywhere by anyone does anyone know? also, what's a value? never seems to come up for sale, though a site search reveals manship sold one for 700-odd quid a couple of years ago. given the prices some probably less-rare items fetch, what would it go for now if it came up? cia dan Hello Dan, I was the one who bought it @ auction from JM. It has always been one of my favourites, and IHMO is still to reach its full potential. Price wise i would say £850+. Regards Ritchie.

There's two ways of looking @ this : As an "Atendee" at functions : I like the early spots because you tend to pick up on some good stuff thats new to you. As a DJ at functions : Sometimes it gets a bit disheartening, playing to an empty floor. Early spots IMHO should be 30 Mins duration Max,or double decked, both with a return later on the same evening of 30 mins or more. Regards Ritchie.

Anybody got a current value for the Bootleggers on Discovery. Regards Ritchie.
