  1. I really like the show, but I thought what a curious record to play out with - I have never noticed them using this sort of track on previous shows.
  2. Was that Fred Hughes "Don't let this happen to us" playing out this weeks episode?
  3. It was very common in the early '70's - I was at Stafford that particular night and I assumed it was a retro fashion thing rather than a nod to the Black panthers?
  4. That certainly is excellent colouring in!
  5. How about putting a scan up (if you can) always interesting to take a look.
  6. That's nice, never come across one of those.
  7. Thanks for sharing that article Ian, worth reading, for this quote alone!
  8. I think all things considered my only comment is the music; played all the right tunes - but not necessarily in the right order... As for the rest of it, I thought it was pretty good!
  9. "Lord you sure got a lot of friends..." What a fantastic tune that is! Thanks for the memory bump Peter!
  10. The only stuff I buy these days, a proper list and prices would get my interest!
  11. It was a random guess on my part I must admit. I used to have a Canadian copy of the Independents "I love you, yes I do" on Wand, and it looked similar. I had bought it thinking it was a US demo at Wigan, but when I got it into proper light it turned out otherwise.
  12. Jonathan Woodliffe was playing "Broken heart attack" around '79/'80 covered up as Chester Pipkin too. Same time as the Sharpetts
  13. Very sorry to hear that - thoroughly nice chap!
  14. Sisters Love was reissued (TMG 1002 I think) about September '75, presumably due to northern demand, so it must have been big in the early part of the year.
  15. Sounds similar to my old FB - mine was definitely vinyl though. Come to think of it, I may have a copy of a Jaggerz somewhere around that is similar.
  16. It may have had a Chips sticker on it but it was an integral part of the label printing. I sold it to John Anderson in 2000, with the rest of my northern, so someone out there has it now. It will have "Richard & Barbara" followed by a date scratched in the run out groove.
  17. There is a demo of the Gamble release, but unlike most of the Gamble demo's it is the same format/colours as the issue bar for the promo/dj copy script in tiny silver print. I had owned one for quite a while before a friend noticed it on my copy!
  18. I am surprised that the Smith brothers fetched more than the Deadbeats (though I am very out of touch). Jonathon Woodliffe once paid his petrol money for a lift to Cleethorpes with an issue copy. At the time we called it a fiver.
  19. I may be wrong (i.e. someone out there may have nicked something off me and I have never realised!) but the only record I have had disappear was a Frankie & the Classicals, sometime around 1977. I reckon they did me a favour.
  20. I don't know either but aren't Young-Holt Unlimited flippin' fantastic?
  21. I did know all of that Steve - and a little bit more about de-forestation and its causes - you must blame my sense of humour (often misguided I know) for thinking that it was possible to not take the whole thing too seriously. I apologise if I offend your environmental or professional sensibilities - I blame those who frequent McDonalds and eat meat (causing said de-forestation) as much as McDonalds itself. I also apologise to the mods for going off topic.
  22. It's the circle of life Mick, the circle of life! I'm not sure flyers are in that circle...
  23. That David Morales reminds me of some good nights - not in red speedo's though!
  24. It's the rain forest I feel sorry for...
