All this talk of what a record should or should not cost kind of gets to the nub of why people collect doesn't it? I always bought records I liked and wanted, as and when I could get them, for the price they cost. Sometimes they went up sometimes they went down. Sometimes I paid less than other people for the same record, sometimes more.
But I bought them because I liked them, and when there was price deflation (as has happened several times in my memory - well I could buy even more records I liked.
You can probably see where I am going with this. They are things of beauty and wonder - not stocks and shares - buy them, enjoy them, no one deserves more from a record than that.
