If my memory serves me correctly, the Exciters were live in the tram shed, International Soul Club Gig? wasnt there a small fire at the back as well? I think this is the one I remember as I printed our tickets to get in with and they were on gold card which was a bugger to get hold of.

Yes I remeber it as well as unfortunatley the Plaza or the flea pit as it was known. The Night Spot also had a revolving section of the dance floor, a bit like Rita, Sue & Bob Too !! There was the Pilgrims bar across the river, the Lair in the Anglers Inn, The Rowing Club on a Sunday Night next to the Pilgrims. Happy Days!!

Thats interesting Neil, as I worked as a printer at Bedford County Press, at the time it was printed and I remember talking to you about the scene in the comp room as the paper was being put togeather, and it just shows how the memory goes with age as I would have sworn it was around 1975, but you must be right. That means I only had another year on the scene before getting married!! Enjoyed your book, all the best, Andy

It's more like eastern europe now in Bedford after a spell being twined with Jalabad. I cant quite place the chippy but I can relate to the type of owner, more like Stavros but without the charm.
