  1. Without a doubt Marvin - just superb vocals - oozed soul out of every vein IMO
  2. That's a shame Brett - you would be good down there! I'm sure you will be asked to play out again! I'm waiting for them to ask Mr Shute on there - he's fabbie and a proper "stokie" - would be nice to see him DJ in his home town again

[Polydor Checkmates Ltd All alone by the telephone VG++ WD £60 Do you accept chocolate bonbons Neil Love this tune
  4. That sounds a bit posh just for a loo! Us girls don't get that sort of stuff - normally broken black plastic seats, cracked sinks (where we sit to put our face paint on), wet floors, no toilet paper .. the list is endless ... I shall now start using the gentleman's conveniences
  5. So take it you spent a lot of time in the toilets then Ken to compare them with St Ives
  6. I paid that £250 about 10 ten years ago - either I was conned or you really need about £500 for it - but hey I haven't got a clip board anymore Ted
  7. What are you after Karen I must admit I tend to dress "down" for soul nights (as above black trousers etc) but if I'm going to a club/pub (which is very very rare) I tend to wear something a bit smarter only because most places won't let you in unless your wearing some sort of label on your clothes In Stafford you certainly can't get into most of the pubs in trainers which I find shocking especially if you're on a pub crawl and you need to run from pub to pub to make sure you get them all in before last orders
  8. Ken (looks after the Backdoor at 100 Club!) - he's on here usually floating around. He's probably the best person to ask
  9. I never put anything in the hems of my skirts cos I never wore them ... I wore black trousers which I still do (comfy and can't see the cider spills ). I also wear flat black shoes for the same reasons as above and always have since I was about 17 (only last year ) so nothing's changed in my wardrobe
  10. Here here, superb sound 'overdose of joy'. It's such a shame when another great person goes off to soul in the sky
  11. Seriously though, I used to have "Stars" by Barbara Lewis - really nice LP - all the tracks were great. Don't actually know what happened to it, think the ex sold it on a carboot

  20. Don't ask anybody else's opinion as you know we all have different views. Just go with what you feel!! Both tracks are fantastic and if you stayed in for 6 months you could afford to keep Al Scott and buy Eddie Whitehead
