I will do another if thats what the majority want but i`m against it, its just too soon. I have`nt played all of the last lot of Cds yet! Chris
-
I`d say it was too soon...traditionally we have done a swap in May and November, keping it to 2 a year has kept it fresh and given folks time to get new stuff in etc, then again if the majority want to do it who am i to say otherwise!? I know DJ Bywell from LA, he is a top guy (and that is his real name, not just a record collecting sudenim!). Originally from Leeds but now living in California Dave is a top bloke, Must admit i did`nt send him a CD as i didn`t have him on my list but as soon as i get his i`ll drop him one in the post! Cheers, Chris

As we are no longer able to bump threads on here i feel many buyers may miss out on some of the larger sales lists regularly posted on soul source. Please PM me with your email address so i can send the list into your E-mail box directly. I produce a monthly list, goes out around the first of the month, containing some great 60s/70s soul 45s and Lps. Of course i`ll still post it here but its better if you get it directly. Cheers, Chris (Midastouch records)

Lee Mc Kinney - Ill Keep Holding On
Chris Anderton replied to Lenny Harkins's topic in Look At Your Box
Just heard back from my friend in the US...this is what he had to say... "There were 5. The 3 we sold you. The one with the slight heat damaged edge. we sold on EBay a couple months ago - plus the damaged one. A guy bought the damaged one for a wall decoration several weeks ago. All came from a person who purchased the stock from a record store that was located along I94 in central Michigan. It closed in the early 80s. The records had been in storage for years and Joe bought them from the folks who had stored them" Chris -
Lee Mc Kinney - Ill Keep Holding On
Chris Anderton replied to Lenny Harkins's topic in Look At Your Box
I had the first batch of 3 found about 18 months ago, cut Shifty in on the deal cause it was all going on while i was about to get married/go on honeymoon etc. There was another one that was badly warped, we tried to get it straightened but had no luck. I was offered the vg one a few weeks ago but suggested the guy put it on ebay. I`m not sure if there are any more found, I`ll ask the question and get back. Never kept a copy for myself, strange cause i always loved the record. I was maybe planning to keep the warped one if it straightened out ok.....just my luck! Chris -
PM me... Thanks, Chris

Are The Flyers Better Than The Venues They Advertise ?
Chris Anderton replied to Rob Wigley's topic in All About the SOUL

Are The Flyers Better Than The Venues They Advertise ?
Chris Anderton replied to Rob Wigley's topic in All About the SOUL
Rob, Really funny you saying that because i just found a few of my old Bretby flyers from the first year and they are really basic, A4 photo copied jobs from 1991, still had a few of them framed and put around the record room. As you know Bretby in the early 90s was one of the places to be.....but the flyers look crap! In another frame i have flyers for 4 events i have Dj`d at in the last couple of years and the flyers look the business......... Chris -
Does anybody know who I sold a record to, by Sonny Turner, on a white Musicor demo ?? It would have been about 2005. Maybe 2004. ............ Ian the Sonny Turner record i assume is "Now that she`s gone"? This is a really hard record to find...only seen one other since i picked mine up in Detroit about 6 years ago. Nobody knows it but whenever i play it to anybody it goes straight onto their wants list. No wonder you want it back...one that will go to the grave with me. Chris.

Trial : Sales Displayed By Topic Started Date
Chris Anderton replied to Mike's topic in Record Sales
I dont like the new display method. Quite simply the more bumps my list gets ie the nearer it gets to the top of the page, then the more records i sell, everyones a winner, me and the buyers. You have to remember a lot of people dont live on here like some people and may only visit once or twice a week and may only look at the first page. What might help is to stop the people replying "PM`d you". Which is a total waste of time becuse the PMs come on screen as soon as we log on therefore we see them before we see the posts! We all know which threads we have read and which we have`nt, just leave it as it is. Now, organise the events talk thread in this way....I`d support that one! Chris -
Also, whats the B-side of the Right on version like? Chris
-
Sorry to bring up this old topic but i have just been offered the Right on version from a guy in the States... So, I have heard both versions, think i prefer the Dove version to be honest. What would be a fair value on the Right on version...? I might have to play it on minus 4!! Chris. ps, The Right on version is growing on me!
