I think you were right Kirsty, i believe a "few" copies of thew ad-libs have turned up, i was offered one in Philly a couple of weeks ago for $400 and someone srtongly advised me to leave it well alone..... Mind and matter should still go for £500. Not every record buyer trawls thru ebay every night. Chris

This is really indemand, i had one on my last list at £50...i did`nt know what to price it at to be honest....i`d take 40 if anyone is interested...email me at chris.soul@btinternet.com Cheers, Chris

Female Record Collector's ... How Many Are There Really
Chris Anderton replied to Sanquine's topic in All About the SOUL
I sell to quite a few girls but they mainly live abroard. A couple of major collectors in Australia, a couple in Spain. Christina and another girl (sorry cant remember her name) played awesome sets at Rimini this year. My Ex collects records, started by robbing me when i got back from my US trips! Chris -
John, Had all the Lashawans at one time or another and i cant tell them apart mate. Always kept with my blue one i bought off you at Cleethorpes a few years ago. Actually i googled lashawn Collins a couple of years ago, got an old photo from the 60s/70s listing all the people in the photo. One was Lashawn, i emailed the person posting the photo trying to get info but got no joy....lets face it as the old football chant goes....there really has to be "Only one lashawn Collins....One lashawn Collinnnnnssssss!" General Feeling About Record Prices
Chris Anderton replied to Dave Moore's topic in All About the SOUL
With the above two statements you are contradicting yourself the price guides are just that, so what's the "actual book value" you're talking about then? .... Derek, its the actual price the record will sell for.....all the main dealers know what that is..... On one hand i was talking about guys selling stuff on here on the other I was talking about buying records from America.... I always think when I`m in the US how it seems a million miles away from a sweaty working mans club full of middle aged guys dancing to the same old tunes..... Chris -
Mark, make it easier, you could sell it to me at the Big Lock on Friday and i could play it for you! Hoping to get to the greyhounds....would love to hear it mate.....working this weekend, trying to sort it........what do you rate it at? Chris

General Feeling About Record Prices
Chris Anderton replied to Dave Moore's topic in All About the SOUL
It always makes me laugh when i see records for sale on Soul source with the prices way above the actual book value. These guys are just arm-chair collectors not paying any tax, VAT, import duty etc etc....do they really think these records are going to sell!? Just a word about the price guides, they are just that, a "guide".....all of the US dealers have the guides but things change so quickly.....check out ace Spectrum at 100 and the Cearars at 20 for just 2 examples........ I hear Johns "version 4" will be out soon......... Chris. -
Good to hear that mate.....will have a chat on Friday at the Lock, looking forward to this one..... Chris.

Hi Guys, Well, just back from another successful trip to the States. I`ve got some really tasty stuff for the lists in the next few months. I have`nt been back a week yet so there is no sales CD this month. If you want to subscribe to the sales CD then send or paypal £5.00 for three monthly sales CDs, these go out about 5 days before the main list and give you first choice on many tunes from the list, a great way to buy records! Dont forget you can now you can pay by credit card at no extra cost. If you dont have a paypal account just go to www.paypal.com and sign up, its really easy. This has got to be the easiest way to pay, and to make sure you get your records quicker. I always try to grade records accurately although its impossible to play every record, that's why I offer a money back guarantee if not completely satisfied for any reason. Gradings are as follows; M-Faultless, probably unplayed, E- Very clean and a nice copy. VG - Used but plays through ok with some light noise, great for DJing with. Please order ALL RECORDS by email, first come, first served, however if you need to call me please do so.01283 536359. P&P is £1.70 for up to 2 x 45 and £2.60 per LP, obviously cheaper if you buy more than one item. Please pay by cheque, cash, IMO or by using your credit card through www.paypal.com. PLEASE PAY WITHIN 7 DAYS or risk losing your reservation.IMPORTANT;WITH EVERY ORDER PLEASE INCLUDE A NOTE STATING EXACTLY WHICH RECORD YOU ARE ORDERING,THE RECORD NUMBER AND YOUR ADDRESS, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DELAY YOUR ORDER .Please make all cheques out to C.Anderton and send to; C.Anderton,1 Jackson Av, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 6LL. The next night, Saturday October 7th there is the usual great session at the 3 greyhounds, also in Middlewich. This is a top night spinning the best in crossover/ 70s with a splash of quality 60s soul. The next Willington Soul night will be taking place on Saturday 21st october, always a great night. I`m also honoured to be asked to spin at the Nurenberg weekender in Germany on the weekend of 10th December. If you want a great weekend away then you can get cheap flights with Air Berlin. Keith, Gutted for you mate...really am. Always dreamed of being a full time dealer myself but having dabbled part-time i know how tough it is. Only last week i was at Alentown record show and was one of a whole bunch of guys trying to hustle records, for me it was a bit of fun but for most it was the difference between making a living or not. Give me a call mate............ Chris
-
Before you all rush off to book your flights .....there may be a lot of records in that place, 3 floors, but its all well picked over. Val always makes out he has no idea what is where and he will do you a favour and let you look at stuff no-one else has seen....or stuff from a shipment from a radio station he has just had in, take it all with a pinch of salt! At his best he is a funny, friendly and engaging guy, at his worst he is a paranoid, bad tempered old man....and his mood can change by the minuite! Still, i kinda like him, and you have to give him respect. Chris
-
$1500? he told us it was $2000......probably because i was with a bloke from the south! Good fun out there mate....glad you got back ok..... See you soon, we will have a few shots for old times sake! Chris

My records owe me nothing although the financial side of it does nag away at me sometimes, maybe cause I`m a bit younger than most. I`d never sell em, although after some trips i do pull out a few things I`m never gonna play to offset those I`m going to keep from the trip....... I love spinning them at home and love looking at them, every one tells a story...just yesterday i opened a box and saw some records i have`nt seen for a couple of months, made me smile and i just had to pull out a couple and play them....nothing better... Chris. ps, suppose I`ll get them all in the end when you old buggers start popping off and records become more obtainable!!!
